Re: On fixing mob AI
God damn! Has anybody else seen this video? Mute it if you must, the visuals are what matter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ef6YkO_jsDY (Watched it without sound due to the accent) Regardless of the people involved, the pathfinding is actually pretty nice. Seems the new guy actually did quite some...

Re: Tales of Maj'Eyal
I started playing it earlier today, and I do admit, it is extremely fun and rewarding. I haven't played many Roguelikes in the past, personally so I don't know how this stacks up against them, but it does remind of the days of classic RPGs. I do suggest people trying it out.

Re: Protesting against SOPA
Here's a very informative video I found on the subject matter. I think it explains it in a very concrete and rational manner, for those who might not yet are familiar with it, and of course even for those who are. Please take some time to watch it. Thank you. Well, looks like I found a new band to enjoy! I do like the jazz...ish... Influences in it. Very nice!Ferrus.Manus wrote: Gah, I can't get this out of my head. It must be catchiest death metal song ever.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
This band is probably one of my favorites that I've ever listened to. Completely Jazz Influenced Progressive Death Metal. This means you definitely have to be used to death growls to truly enjoy, but the amount of technicality in the music goes beyond what I've seen in 99% of other bands. The song s...

I'd rather put rusty nails through my eye-lids than listen to the worst British accents I've ever heard, not to mention how obnoxiously loud and fast they talk. Sums up my exact thoughts as well. Someone posted a video of them one time... Got through ten seconds, then instantly shut off the video. ...

i like all of it except for the fact that the hammer takes 6 iron blocks to craft. i feel that is a bit much to ask. edit: also, diamond armour is still craftable without the hammer Yeah, I caught that problem just now. As for the hammer, I seem to remember regularly getting full stacks of iron ore...

Re: TTWTTTTT
What about using lava for smelting? Like it was a long time ago? Throwing items into lava is the easy bit, finding some is not. Also restricting to smelting only cobble and iron, with the rest of the items burning up normally. Crafting a furnace would require iron for corners and stone for the side...

Maybe Coal itself could be used? Doesn't make TOO much sense, but it would require some digging... Just... Eh, not enough. I'm at a loss too, I guess.

I love the Yogscast's beginning videos, when it was still a let's play. Problem is, Simon kinda became this mockery of himself, squealing all the time and Lewis gets on your nerves eventually, because he acts like he is a "MC pro", but that just isn't the case, he has problems with the mo...

I do admit, I sadly find the Yogscast amusing... However, they're like so many actors and big figures nowadays... Funny and such on the screen, but assholes in real life. It really detracts my enjoyment from them everytime I remember how much trouble they cause.

Re: Features you feel detract from minecraft?
I'm going to have to say early to mid-game mining. It becomes too tedious, and thus, a chore for me. I enjoy the process of finding enough wood to start the base, digging down to find a few ores here and there for some resources, the occasional cave here and there... But after a while, it just gets ...

I really don't understand why they keep coming back... Despite ALL their best efforts, they just get beaten to a pulp, and run away with their tail behind their legs... They must be some seriously masochistic people... Oh wait... I think they're just trying to steal some Gimp Suits to fit their life...

Favorite Let's Plays?
I've been watching quite a few LP's lately, and I'm sure most of the BTW community has at least one or two favorites.
Personally, I love watching Etho's videos, as it gives me a lot of ideas.
Also, Battosay's vids are really inspiriational too.

Re: My favorite game song ;-)
I've always been a HUGE fan of the Zelda soundtrack. It always makes everything seem so epic...
And, although I completely despise the game now that I've quit and realized how much life I've spent on it that I'll never get back... WoW had a pretty nice soundtrack, to be fair.
