Per day? 24 hours? Or will that not be enough?

Re: A question about 3.21
Because, as it's not updated to 1.0.0, people have to choose between BTW and enderdragons. All of us have presumably chosen BTW.

Re: Stone sidings into stone bricks
I think you misunderstood my suggestion. I was suggesting that you change the texture and recipe of the stone sidings to make them into stone brick sidings, replacing the smooth stone ones. Since they're mostly (completely?) aesthetic blocks, as far as I know, and the stone bricks (which didn't exis...

Re: Stone sidings into stone bricks
Speaking of this, why can't we have stone brick sidings? I've been wanting it for bigger rooms in my stone brick houses for a while, and if I understand it correctly, it wouldn't use another ID, just add another damage value to sidings. Or just replace the stone ones with stone bricks. As they're ma...

Re: MC - the journey or the destination?
It's the same for me, although I haven't had much experience building machinery yet. I'll make something not for the resources generally, but for the fun involved in making it, and the enjoyment I get from seeing it finished. That's also why my first cauldron used nine hibachis, as did my first cruc...

Well, it does make you want to set up a furnace room earlier, and encourages you to reach the crucible. Mind you, when you reach the crucible you get infinite steel tools anyway, and I normally set up a furnace bank early to make my house out of stone bricks!

Re: [Discussion] - Hardcore modes
I can say the same thing for the HCB, it discourages you from playing around with water. When in fact it does the opposite. No, because you really have to 'play around with water' to progress through the game and access many features (obsidian for the nether, hemp, automated movement of items, etc)...

Re: The end of Minecraft
I am well aware that it is in fact not about hating wolves, hence the 'officially'. OTOH, the mod started as a statement about wolves, and the name of the thread (hey, wolves are worse than this mod!), and the number of those 'sinister parts' which involve wolves as opposed to, say, pigs, does mean ...

Re: [Discussion] - Hardcore modes
I was thinking, what if each respawn (viewed as a reincarnation) depended on you having enough soul power to do so, and thus consumed a portion of xp? Dying without having the required xp is game over a la hardcore mode. It fits with the harshness that was the original intent of notch and serves as...

Re: The end of Minecraft
Perhaps because it's 'officially' about hating wolves, as implied by the title, the companion cube/slab, etc. I suppose that he thought it seemed fitting, and I'd agree except that FC's already made plans for the dragon. Stop trolling him, guys!

Can we keep the current sound for the millstone? It sounds more biological (probably Mojang's intention) and the millstone is, by your own statement, meant to be for grinding up biological matter. It might possibly reduce the 'make teh millstone do this with stone!!!11!' style of requests slightly.

Re: [Discussion] - Hardcore modes
The thing to think about though is giving players another way to reset their spawns - Especially with hardcore buckets enabled, home can be a long way from initial spawn. Exactly. The recipe I was using just used Sidings instead of Planks, but it's taken me forever to get the bed (now I'm just abou...

There's two that still constantly "get me" though. Flint & Steel (I always reverse the order), and the Cauldron (I always reverse the bucket and bone). Anybody else find the same with the latter? Maybe I should change that. Yeah, I always get caught out by the flint and steel. Maybe i...

Re: Block dispenser sends out redstone signal when full.
Well, mightn't it work if you gave the BD one, generally rarely used to avoid breaking existing contraptions, side where it won't accept redstone input, and make it give out signal in that direction? Not necessarily saying that's a good idea, just wondering if it could in fact be done.

Re: [Discussion] - Hardcore modes
Hmm. How about hardcore beds? Delaying the crafting of beds until later in the tech tree would give people the 'first night' experience back, at least somewhat, while not harming Mojang's intentions of making night pass faster (or instantly, if you don't have Somnia installed), and giving players a ...

Re: Replace bricks with something else as hopper filler
I dunno man, I think it's fairly intuitive. Bricks are "dead weight", and people are used to thinking of them as such in RL. If anything, I think vines would be less intuitive as a result. Given that they are a resource which can be farmed, it would also preclude the possibility of collec...

I know, I meant in terms of automated production. Sorry if I wasn't clear, I'd just watched Battosay's video and so had the automated method in my mind. I've been thinking about this idea for nearly a week now, though, Battosay just reminded me (indirectly) to post it.

Yeah, I have to say that I hear this. Frankly, I'm a little so-so on a food system being included in MC to begin with. There are hardly any games that require you to periodically eat like this. I even remember food being one of the first things most GM's chose to ignore in most of the table-top RPG...

Replace bricks with something else as hopper filler
Back when we used clay to fill up hoppers' inventories, there was a reason given for them not being ejected ('they stick to the sides'). But when pottery became a more important part of the mod, and clay was needed more in automation, FC changed it so that still useless bricks took the place of clay...
