HCS weirdness post dragon

So on the community server we recently took down the big winged thing in the end. After that I met an untimely demise, and spent a couple lives wandering around the wilds. While there was an effort to soulsand my location, after a few deaths my next spawn placed me down standing beside where the compass points. Did I just get really lucky, or did something go wrong?

It's theoretically possible given the way the respawning algorithm works. Given the 20 minute delay between attempts though, and that it would likely take a number of attempts to get that result, I wouldn't worry about it, and just consider it a lucky break.
