It appears to be a parody of old explotation films, most notably the "keep repeating to yourself: it's only a movie" thing was lifted straight off of Last House on the Left.

Watch some "cinema snob" on thatguywiththeglasses. Trust me, there are stranger films out there- ones which aren't actually meant as a joke.

Like the first western ever to star an all "midget" [sic] cast. Or "nekromantic", which is all about necrophelia and murder (complete with absolutely disgusting sex scenes). There's a whole genre dedicated to being offensive, you see.

Oh, and if you want to see more japanese gore-fests, I'd try "suicide club"; preferably one of the uncensored editions which is most likely illegal in your country :P
