I need something to play.
As per title. I'm currently restricted to a mac and can't play Skyrim, Minecraft has lost my interest and I'm too lazy to install BTW and I don't have enough money to buy anything on Steam. Anyone got some good free mac compatible games to recommend?

Well, the first thing that comes to mind is Oolite, a remake of Elite. I couldn't get too far with the in-game UIs, but I didn't feel like reading the manual. Going along with classic games, Marathon (1994, by Bungie, of Halo fame) is free, running on the opensource Aleph One engine.
I'm assuming you don't want to play any free to play games, like Dota 2 or Team Fortress 2?
There are quite a few pretty good flash games out there, Circle TD, Vector TD, Steamwings, Dad n' Me, Castle Crashing the Beard, Meat Boy, just to name a few that I remember.
Zork is free, you can find a mac version at Infocom's site. If you feel like reading, there's also a lot of free visual novels out there, of varying quality.

Free to play, pay to win games are OK if they let you play freely through most of the game w/o having to purchase something to beat the game, i.e. Wizard101. And I'm specifically looking for adventure/mmorpg games like Skyrim and ESO

I know, but I'm just too used to PC installation and I won't be using this mac for long enough to be worth figuring out how to install mods on it.FlowerChild wrote:Lame.TheGreatIntelligence wrote:I'm too lazy to install BTW

Well, MMOwise, there's stuff like Mozilla's Browserquest and The Realm of the Mad God, but you should be able to run The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall under DOSBox on OSX, but if that's too difficult/old, then there's always Nethack.

That's a rough spot to be in. Not too many games are made with Macs in mind. You're pretty much limited to indie and open-source games. OpenTTD will run on them, if you're looking for a management game.
Take a look at sites like Kongregate as well - flash games can be pretty good.

Installing Better Than Wolves on mac is trivially easy. Just like on windows, use MCPatcher HD to do it for you. (top of the load order)
There, solved it.

Yea I noticed. Fortunately ESO will be available for mac (praise Talos) so I'll be able to play that during the beta tests and when it releases.Katalliaan wrote:That's a rough spot to be in.

fairly simple to use, if you want to expand on what you can play this program allows you to run windows.
Skyrim for example runs perfectly.
and you are one of the very very few people i've seen that are still excited for ESO, i won't try and stop from being excited about it though.

Why not? Because it would have made sense!
