Looks amazing.... I already hope this is no set multi-block apparatus.
I also hope there will be a mc mod api... that furnace cries out for a hopper above and one under the output! :D

Apparently you have to catch a blaze, the mob, build this thing. I wonder how that's supposed to be accomplished.

I wish MC was more creative with it's smelting mechanics. Just throwing ore in a simple block made of 8 rocks and providing some coal and out pops an ingot always felt cheaty to me.

I saw this, it's so exciting! I want to see inside Azanor's house though.
All parts should go together without forcing. You must remember that the parts you are reassembling were disassembled by you. Therefore, if you can't get them together again, there must be a reason. By all means, do not use a hammer.

I know, I know, 10 day old post, but I do have something to add to the discussion.
To all you TC3 fans, go watch the latest direwolf video, around 7 minutes in Direwolf visits Azanor's house on the Forgecraft server. Now that is something to look forward to. The automation methods in his mod, using golems, are quite amazing. Both visually and in terms of gameplay mechanics, fitting well with the rest of the mod theme.

I'm also really loving the fact that he is balancing the whole mod around vanilla, even though he is using forge. The mod really doesn't lend itself to being played with anything else major out there, and he's really working on making it a proper, "self-sustaining" mod, without being "the mod that does everything". If you get my point =)

See this is how you make a mod when you're working so closely with others (forge). You create something not just a little different but truly unique. It's not just a different kind of pipe, it's a different method of moving things. It's not just a different furnace block it's a unique functioning cooking structure. I'm interested to actually try this out, the research in the previous version didn't really do it for me so I'm glad he changed that and nerfed some glaring issues.

Also it looks awesome!

I have to agree. Biggest reason I never got into the forge mods back in the day was that I couldn't understand how moving items between a dozen different, for all intents and purposes, reskinned furnaces made for fun gameplay.

And he really does make everything look pretty too.

Wow, so much stuff. I made myself turn it off part way in to avoid spoiling everything. I think I'll stop reading up on any more TC3 info till after it is released and I can play through it myself. Gotta keep some surprises in there.

Thaumcraft 3 has what all the other forge mods lack: style.
Where countless mods have their own infinite power sources that require little more than a few blocks to generate, thaumcraft has Aura; a mechanic that truly requires the player to think ;)

I've always liked something about TC; I don't know about TC3, but in TC2 what you did was actually reflected on the world around you. Messing around with taint levels and unintentionally AND intentionally doing damage to the envyronment was quite cool.
The fact that going "full taint" was actually viable in the long run, and there were quite a few strategies to get resources from having a tainted world, was very well thought out. I'm not sure if the aura system has something like that, but I'm sure it'll be good.

The aura system is a more immediate and dramatic effect from what I've seen so far. In TC2 eventually taint would spawn, but up until then there wasn't really much affect on the world. In TC3, the spawning of Wisps for instance is a direct and immediate result of aura flux. It's a much more interesting system.

Btw, seems the silverwood trees can now be used to create aura nodes and multiple nodes near each other will merge.

I hope he makes it significantly more difficult that TC2. Power came too easily in that. Although I don't think anything will satisfy my desire for brutal difficulty until we see BTW2...

Of all the Modmakers out there, I think FlowerChild and Azanor are definitely the two I look up to most. They have such... For lack of a better term, grace, in making things feel right. I mean, when I played TC2, sure I could feel it was a mod, but it was really well structured, if not a little unbalanced. So far, it looks like TC3 is going to be one of the few mods I'll use, and I'm pretty excited for the sequels to both TC and BTW now. :)

I think have a bunch of little golems running around carrying your stuff is going to beat the pants off any pipe/tube system out there. Especially if bats are able to carry them around (as Azanor implied he might be working on in a recent post); the cuteness factor alone is going to be through the roof.

It does seem to be a mod that will best be played by itself though, much like BTW.

Also, chicken nuggets!

I have to say I quite like the thaumonomicon mechanism. It's like an in-game wiki, but limited to those parts you've already discovered.
