I always felt that the light block would be broken if you tried hitting it with a pick.

Re: Anyone interested in starting a new BTW DF game?
I had never played Dwarf Fortress succession games. Can you explain what's standard succession? Basically, everyone plays for one year, then passes it on to the next person. You record events in a diary-like format, and post it up for everyone to read. Better Than Wolves and Dwarf Fortress in the s...

Anyone interested in starting a new BTW DF game?
I was looking around the ancient bits of the forums and I noticed that this community likes DF. So here's my proposal: -Standard Succession -Any level of skill -Slightly stupid fortress location (perhaps next to elven city?) Anyone interested? Re: Alpha/Beta/Early Access etc
Arma III Lite Alpha: 6 out 10 I got it for free (thanks Shengji) but, I would not recommend purchase if you haven't played the earlier games. The Bad: There is no tutorial, so all controls have to be learned. In addition realism gets in the way again with low ammo carried in armored cars, so if you ...

Sounds good.
Also Mojang, Didn't you say something about fixing lighting glitches? And how there's supposed to be a new lighting engine? Yeah...
Anyway, Nether rail lines are fun. Just adding that in.

I think that sounds good, the idea of a building game not being about building is something I have been annoyed by.
Defiantly something I would like to see happen in a nice way.

Re: Which is harder: Desert or Tundra?
Tundra is the hardest if you are looking for actually playing the game. Desert is a bitch and attempting to survive in one alone is negligible.
That said, I usually set up a base outside of a desert and move in when I get a windmill and food.

Wow... you are just cranking these out! Also note that Hearty Stew requires *brown* mushrooms, not just any mushroom as stated in the previous release notes. This problem was the main reason behind this small release. Wow, if that warrants a new release... where is the "Return to Home" fund?

Indeed, I think a big part of it though is the idea that the darkness is dangerous, it plays off the classic fear we sight-based beings have, not being able to see.

I don't believe so, but have you turned you graphics settings down, particles down and enabled advanced openGL? I used to run on an old machine, and using that would help a lot.

You see, with all the work I've been doing on beacons as of late, my own main world has lagged behind somewhat in terms of actually keeping up with the mod's tech-tree. As a result, I've decided to set aside the day to just play the mod on work on my own beacons ;) Out of interest, why do you have ...
