Re: Dragon Orb Efficency
Thanks, and yeah, I agree spawner traps are a bit lame. Good to know. :)

Re: Dragon Orb Efficency
Related question, do saws count as environmental damage? The only way in vMC to get spider eyes is to kill spiders by hand and not with a grinder. Currently building my 1st btw mob trap, but if this is the case, it'll make my dual cave spider spawners that I found yesterday more valuable.

Re: Best way to obtain a blaze rod?
Digging under the spawner is a good strategy, they'll funnel themselves down into a hole where you can beat on their "legs." If you just need a few to get going, armor up and charge! Jk, I take some netherbrick and set up a bunch of 3 high pillars just around the area outside of the spawne...

Re: Chicken automation / Swimming vs nesting chickens
What I did in my last world was to flood the chickens on a timer, so most of the time they were dry, but got a bath every 60 seconds.
I posted this in the builds thread, but here is a link to my early attempt. http://imgur.com/a/oDHQV

Re: A Fresh Start
I just started over too. It was a newer world, having played less than a few dozen hours, but it felt a little cheaty having slime farms and main buildings all laid out with the aid of F3. And without beds, it is a much richer and hectic experience starting over. I always do completely random seeds,...

Re: Endgame Dilemma
I've only done it once, and never returned to the end since in any of my builds. Before this update, I never had a need for endstone, and I rarely needed pearls, so I never built an endermen grinder. Gonna be interesting...elustran wrote:I have never killed the Endragon.

Re: Tales of BTW Noobieness Discussion
First windmill, I went through about 30 axles before I finally went back to the wiki and read up on the 3 axle rule. I had a 5 axle span to my gearbox, and 10 axles to the ground, no gearboxes in between, popped on the windmill and BANG. did it twice thinking it was a fluke.

Re: Should I continue builing up spawn?
Thank you for the answering that. No problem man. As always, and as a player, I am keenly aware of the amount of work that people put into their builds, and have a great deal of respect for that. I always feel like I should start fresh after a few updates like f3 and hcb. It feels like cheating now...

Re: Flower's BTW LP
Coding is an absolute mystery to me, I had a roommate who was a web developer and he'd spend hours just looking at code - it drove me a little nuts thinking about spending a whole day like that. A well explained video how a tweak or block is created would be very interesting to me, but in no way wou...

early morning try at automation of hemp/chicken farm.

It's not full auto, but if anyone has any ideas how to separate eggs from raw eggs, I can probably make it go.

Re: Likely changes to F3 and its implications
Considering neither of the things you mention are real problems, it doesn't surprise me you don't have solutions. Feel free to ignore me at any time, I'm trying to keep up forum reading at work, so I was a little behind the times on your reasons for removing it in the dev thread. By the wording of ...

Re: Likely changes to F3 and its implications
Two things I know I'll miss that I use f3 all the time for: It discourages long range exploration- no idea how many times I've gone 1000+ blocks out to find a mob, village, or stronghold, and the only way to find my way back was with coordinates. I guess I'd have to have a stack of maps and make the...

This is why I don't waste time thinking of suggestions, great devs are miles ahead and working on stuff I didn't even know was possible. I'm very excited to try this out! The fun will be had.

Re: Coming from Technic
The only things I miss deal with crafting automation and item transport, which I'm sure will get implemented soon in a completely original and seamless way. They're so seamless, you didn't even notice they're already in the mod ;) WHAAAAAAA???????? pouring over wiki.... Oh you sneaky bastard! well ...

Re: Coming from Technic
I just wanted to add instead of starting a new thread, I'm thoroughly impressed with this mod. I was a technic player for a good long while, then they forgot to update it in like forever, so I went back to vanilla to play 1.3. Then I started installing mods that were updated, one at a time, just to ...
