Vanilla Minecraft Annoyances

I'm taking one for the forum here. All the annoyances of vanilla MC, pour them here. Here's mine: With wood logs that can lay sideways in 1.3.2 (was supposedly a 1.4 thing) Jeb and Dinnerbone forgot one thing. You know half slabs, of course, which are mainly decoration. Where are the half logs?!? <n...

I'm starting that thread up in Off Topic for one other reason, which is rather unbelievable that nobody has even posted this "annoyance" yet in the short amount of time v1.3.2 has been out.

Re: Morvelaira's News Compilation

Nice. Monster spawners will become more of an entity spawner, and you're given control over what, where, and when they spawn, as well as what they become when they land. Worth seeing the video for the first half.

Dev diary does sound fun, I have enjoyed being able to see your way of doing things (even though its a world I know nothing about, but hey I'm rooting for you anyway =P). If its helping motivate you then thats great too, if you want to test it out without creating a subforum I hear there is space g...

Re: Here's an idea: stop posting ideas

So your best chance of getting promoted to Flying Turtle (Pastry Chef) is to donate enough money that FC can afford to get drunk, then hope for the best? You mean for higher chances, we have to buy FC good beer? Sounds like a furry thing to do -- we buy a well-known story teller good wine in order ...

Would related mod tools be relevant for this thread? Because Risugami just updated ModLoader, and I didn't see it in previous replies in the thread.

That's the same thing I'm facing. I need to split the seeds across six hopper/block dispenser combinations. Wasn't the previous one an automagical version that just split things?

Re: Does 1.3 drastically increase system requirements?

Yes, 1.3 on the single player side does, because it's really local client+server. That's basically twice the work, which they know about. If it gets FC to go multiplayer, though, you may be able to run it on two PCs. I'm interested in turning on of my ARM systems (the Raspberry Pi, maybe, or the Bea...

That's the idea myself, do a pure 1.3 map. I'll regen the whole setup and rebuild.

I'm thinking FC said with the last major release that he was delaying the release of some kind of xp-storage device to a later date, and that he had previously intended it to be nether-pottery. But, you know, just a guess... Given there's bottles of XP already in vMC... I wonder how it would work o...

There's a big issue, though, that Flowerchild and Gilberreke need to consider: They're splitting out the client code so that the client will be connecting to an internal "server": From Jeb on May 3rd: Important! This week’s snapshot is extra experimental! This week we’ve started working on...

Re: Minecraft snapshots

Thats not really possible, a destroyed Ender chest don´t drop the items that were in. We coul´d just use it to collect the items to an central place. In BTB you can pump the items out of a chest, so you can have a central factory (which is what I'm working on now. Now, if Jeb makes different colore...

Well, I do see a use for the Ender Chest, so that you can drop excess material into it, pump it out under BTW/BTB, sort it out, send the gold/iron to the kiln, send diamond/lapis/emerald to storage chests (maybe after some processing), clay to the turntable/kiln/soul filler.... Ooooh so much that ca...
