Iron Axe Disappeared

I just experienced something very odd. I put my iron axe (with near full durability) and a single birch log in my crafting area, and did a shit-click. I got the planks sawdust and bark that I would expect, but the iron axe is gone. I have not been able to reproduce it. Has anyone else seen something like this?

I have the following mods installed:
Deco dancer update
Legacy skin support
Craft Guide
Better item frames
Jorge's Misc

I've had something like that before. Typically it's still there just invisible. Click around your inventory and you should pick it back up in your cursor.

Thanks Ill give that a try, Even if I don't find it, I feel better that it has happened to someone else and I'm not crazy
