I'll change the Packed Earth thing if it's working how you guys describe. I believe my intent there was to have it be harvestable by a shovel.

I can get packed earth just fine with a shovel, it is the dirt(made through hard core packing) that I can not pick up. And the packed earth crafts to loose dirt. If that is intended, then fine. I was just wanting to know if planters were moved back behind block dispensers.

Ah, that's the problem then. I'll change the planter recipe to use loose dirt.
Yeah, you're not supposed to be able to collect regular dirt short of a block dispenser or silk touch. It's not really intended as a placeable block anymore.

Pre bench, creepers. They really can collect a half days dirt in a second, the same with stone.

Provided I'm correlating this right, I definitely got caught off guard by this today, somewhat almost killing me in the process, and would've if there were mobs. Well played FC.
Tried to block off some cave using wood and it burned down, lighting me on fire when I tried putting it out.

Just found a dungeon with a spawner and realized:
Mossy stone does not fall like regular loose stone. Not a huge exploit but lets you build with stone minus needing scaffolding early game

Regarding the spider change in AABABABA
Seems like if they spit their web, they won't drop string when killed, otherwise they will always drop 1 string?

Sounds about right. They also only ever spit one web, making it significantly rarer which kinda makes sense since it's meant to be a bottleneck.
Having a hole in your ceiling isn't as valuble as it once was. On the other hand, it's one less thing to actually do at night, which sucks.

Yeah I also have problems with slabs now. They spit at me but my floor is all slabs. So I lose out altogether on nighttime spider raids.

How exactly does one light a nether portal? Or netherrack? I broke an entire flint and steel trying to do each. I finally lit the portal using a campfire to light some logs on fire, but I can't figure out how to do it besides that.

place campfire on obsidian/netherrack. Light the campfire.
