Fired up to invest this Christmas Eve some time in hollowing out a few animal pens, when my loot room surprises me.

Change your image link to the link with the image extension as above! :D

Use the img tag, not the url tag, and use the actual image URL not the page URL (for imgur, that is just putting the 'i.' before imgur).
But yeah as for date specific stuff, also on halloween all undead mobs have a chance of spawning with a pumpkin on their head. I think it's a nice little surprise.

By far the best date specific content is the Santa hat on the VLC media player cone. No contest.
