Help with stronghold pls

So I been trying to make eye of enders and I can't make them like I did in vanilla my friends and I are finally ready to go look for the stronghold but we're stuck on making eye of enders. Is there a different recipe I don't know about? Tried reading upon it but found no luck

To get them you have to level up your priest villager to unlock a trade that changes an enderpearl and some emeralds for an eye of ender. So it's time to village hunting.

Just to let you know, villager trading takes a while, you aren't really ready for the dragon yet. You'll find out once you start trading. One of the routes people go is to find a place where you can gather all of the villagers in one place and set up a secondary base there with all the tech.
