I just wanted to make a post about how you all use Items in creative and uncommon ways. Ill give a couple examples below:

1. Iron Golem Tunnel digger with wither stars:
Put a wither boss underground in a tunnel, after he does his first explosion activate 3 iron golems. They will throw him against the wall over and over again making him explode and carve a tunnel, also after 3 golems he will typically get killed or be on his last bit of health, easy wither stars but expencive.

2. Pen and quill grocery list:
I use it for taking down what my villagers want for trade (just dont sign it)

3. Mob trap skeleton DJ:
Using pistons make it so your mob trap kill tunnel can open an alternate path by pressing a button or lever allowing a mob of your choice to fall it (use something like fences for the walls so those mobs can see you). Get a skeleton and a creeper in it and bait the skeleton into shooting the creeper. Soon you'll be rolling in records.

I like the grocery list idea. Typically I just use an outside application for that, but from now on I'll think of that as too gamey.

-Flour is a fairly decent food item for all you wanna-be Indiana Jones temple raiders. Cook bread at night and pick off a few animals during the day.

-Lure skeletons closer by placing two blocks in front of yourself.
-A small height advantage makes dealing with zombies easier.
-Likewise be aware of the hardcore movement feature during combat.
-Armoured monsters can get you can early suit of iron.
-Zombie shovels can sometimes be found enchanted with efficiency IV or V.

With Hardcore Slimes always be careful when letting slimes and wolves play together.
