Better Than Wolves Forum

I just reached windmill tier in my new world and tamed a Wolf to harvest some dung (at least one) for the saw, but the problem is that the Wolf has eaten 5 raw chickens in 3 days and there is no poo... He is in a 4x5 room, in complete darkness, the floor is all dirt slabs to prevent mob spawning, I have been reading in the forum about the hardcore hunger for wolves and it seems dung production is the same as always, am I right? I always used that type of room (for the first wolves) and worked well...
What could be happening?

hmmm.... I dont see any outstanding issues with what you've said... could we see a picture of your setup perhaps?

It might be that the wolf is still producing dung, just the item is getting stuck in the floor (stuff like that can happen with slabs). Have you tried actually walking around the whole area to see if you pick anything up?

Memory is fuzzy, but I seem to remember there being problems when the wolf is sitting in a half-block. My last room was 5x5 slabs, except for a full block in the center with the wolf on it.

Also make sure that the production valve is unobstructed

I'd recommend sitting him on a glass block, to avoid any risk of half slabs being the issue.

The flush is always important. Also cauldrons.

Yeah, the wolf sitting on a slab was the problem, just changed that and he gave me the nice treasure, I'm sure I have had this design in other saves and worked well...

This is the first I looked upon, there was a nice empty hole with no obstructions lol
