New Release! (BTW V4.A1 Humped Camel) - NO SPOILERS

Version 4.A1 Humped Camel of Better Than Wolves is ready for download!

This release contains the following changes:

-Changed the night vision effect to improve visibility in gloomy areas. Be cautious with this however, as it's now much more easier for night vision to run out and leave you unexpectedly surrounded by gloom.

-Changed the bounding box on small slimes to make them less likely to slip between diagonal gaps in blocks and Saw-based grinders.

-Changed (increased) the rate at which brown mushrooms generate deep underground as they were exceptionally difficult to find with the previous release.

-Fixed problem where not all block types would unsettle animals.

-Fixed problem where baby cows could be born with full udders.

-Removed the small amount of light that brown mushrooms produce, as it made it rather difficult to farm them given their growth conditions now require complete darkness :)

Definitely an update to give anyone a good e-boner. Love the swamp and early game changes to animals. Now I feel anxious about having to walk for my animals, but at least I'm very very...VERY well fed.

Something probably a bit off topic but it amused me slightly. Btw is a huge makeover for vmc. It contains staggering changes with very deep complications. In my mind it is that huge undertaking, a massive accomplishment. Yet when I try to download it, it is only 3.7 mb. Obviously it is mostly code, which compresses very well, and 3.7 mb of code is really no small volume. But in this day and age where people routinely download 300mb of drivers in seconds, or games clocking at 60gb, that 3.7 mb caught me off guard and made me smirk at my monitor, like I was in in a very exclusive secret, while marvelling at how can something so big be so small.

Don't mind me, just a personal anecdote, carry on. Congrats on the release FC, mushrooms are finally a bit more interesting!

Man, I start slacking about checking the forum and I totally miss a new version (or two) being released! :P

These changes look like they should be lots of 'fun' ;)

Love the new changes, I'm thinking of giving hemp seeds to chickens... Travelled for days and still not found any pumpkins...

About the brown mushrooms, I found some in a forest, is this intended?

Fair point, but I think you may be giving it too much credibility through asking.

Avatar...sig...not concrete enough for an immediate rule #2 in my mind, but close. Barring that, there's also the distinct possibility that it's a world or chunks that were generated before installing the latest release.

I understand you don't believe me, as like you said is my first post, I did sign on the forums some time ago to ask some questions, but always found an answer searching and reading on the forum, I hope I could have more credibility in the future. :)

Well, first step in that direction would definitely be verifiable proof: if you can provide a world seed and coordinates where this occurs to back up what you're saying, like jorge suggested, it would be easy to confirm.

Well, I'm a bit ashamed, it's the first time I was using a texture pack, (Conquest), and both mushrooms are called simply "mushroom" and with this texture pack they both look the same, so this was my entirely my fault... Don't kill me please... :)

Btw I must say that with the new changes made to early game, my standard gameplay style (pick, hoe, find pumpkins & chickens) is very dependent on seed, because in my actual world, there are only a few plains with no pumpkins, and hemp is very slow to sustain chickens, so, for the first time playing the mod, I'm trying to find melon seeds in a mineshaft(wool armor, scared to the bones) before having pumpkins... It's incredible how a little change can make your way so different...
