Should I start 7 days and Kerbal with Flowerchild's Mods?

Howdy BTW community, I just bought 7 days to die and Kerbal Space Program during the steam Christmas sale.
I was wondering if my virgin experience with both of these games should begin with BTSM and BTGB in their respective games.
I ask this because I have never started a game with mods installed, but I often wind up wishing I had when my attention is at its peak.
What do you guys think? Either way I will definitely try them with Flowerchild's mods eventually :).
