What makes you get ballsy?

Undoubtedly there are alot more risks involved with BTW and dieing, one thing i can never pass up early game though is when i see a skeleton with full iron armor, i drop what ever im doing and craft 3 stone axes and attack him for his precious iron. half the time i die but the other half i get precious material.

What are some risks that are just too tempting to pass up early game? (or later game)

Funny enough, the skeleton/zombie in armour really gets me too. Every time I see one, I drop whatever I'm doing to try and rush in, or atleast stay close enough so it doesn't despawn until day, where I can be generally safe. However, if it's a skeleton, I can usually bet that a spider will come in and make me a nice target for the bones to pop arrows into.

Another one, very much early game, is chickens. Ten creepers can be surrounding it, but damn it, I will try my hardest to bring it into my shelter to snuggle it close keep it safe.
And then I get to see how much fun HCSpawn is.

I used to go after the armored enemies, but lately I know it isn't worth it; I've pretty much stopped using Iron Armor altogether until I get some big and important food sources, due to increased load on your hunger meter.

Deep ravines... the kind in which you see diamonds seducing you at the bottom... Gets me every time...

Coloured Sheep. god knows how rare those are.

Armoured units are a nice touch too, but I tend to prefer perforating them with arrows before going anywhere close.

I'm a sucker for deep dark caves. No matter how many times I tell myself "I got what I came for go back to the safety of the surface", there's a louder voice saying "what's down there it looks dark and mysterious down that hole, I bet there's something exciting down there. Go on, go have a look there might be Lapis you know how much you like Lapis oh or even Redstone!"

For me one time it was: "Oh yeah you can totally mine one more block under that ocean.. (with 3 hearts of health from almost drowning the first time)"
I guess I was ballsy cause there weren't any monsters and I kinda forgot about the crippled and wounded effects...

The iron skeleton thing got me just the other day actually, so even I'm not immune to that one :)

I've also been noticing that I get a little too excited about iron deposits in the early game, and have been taking unnecessary risks to harvest them.

When hardcore iron first came out, i immediately set a standard to not get any iron at all in the early game because i felt it wasnt worth it. And i lived for a while, but now i know that if i keep moving, i can get enough for a pick. Which kills me

For no good reason, mountaintops. The sun could be setting, when I'm supposed to be turning my boat aboutface and going to my safety hole, but then that one chunk spawns, and I see a 200 block high cliff, and I just wanna climb it. For no good reason at all XD

Hearing cows, sheep ect. just outside my cave those first few nights. I swear they beg me to collect them before something else gets them.

Animals and iron equipment. Gotten myself killed many times like that, especially to defend mobs from zombies.

Ore. Always Ore. Especially in the early game, if I walk by a cave with obvious iron, I just can't help running madly in, looking around for monsters, and grabbing the iron as fast as I can. I die to that more than anything else.

Later in the game, though, I stand there looking at the ore thinking, "Hmm, that's a really nice iron vein...but that's also a really nice base back there I'd like to stay at..." And then I buckle down to building lots of defenses and stairs so I can get it without dying :)

Lava seems to draw me towards it like a magnet as it is a useful tool, and with the last few BTW updates it is becoming increasing so.

Remember the "first rule" don't play near lava and especially don't play in it, no matter how confident you are.
