It is difficult to find the words for things like this. This community you have built will have your back. Anything else I try to write is coming out wrong so I will let it stand at that.
I feel terrible, I know what it is like. I've had to bury two of my own cats over the years. One I discovered in the road out in front of my house while coming home from school. The experience changes you.
I can't imagine not having either or my dogs around. It's just to heartbreaking. I've only had them for two and a half years, and they have done so much for me in such short amount of time.
Very sorry to hear this, FC. You were the best thing to ever happen to Bill and I'm sure he'll appreciate you until the end. In lieu of pouring one out on the curb, having neither, my cat is going to get a big hug.
