Hopper filters recap for mobtrap-ish items (and Bellows)

Post by Battosay »

Just two screens of the chart I made to help me figure out my filtering process, I thought it might be usefull to some more people here too :)

Stopped by Bellows means that it wont make them move ;)

And a quick recap of which filters allows what to go in. Note that the Iron Filter only stops the Unstackable, I missed one word there ;)

Wow, thanks Battosay! I've been wanting a list what what does what in regards to filters.

So it would seem that as it stands, there is no simple way to separate arrows and bones... is there?

EDIT:

I've been looking for a means to split my arrows and bones from my skelly spawner farm.

Not meaning to necro, but I'm using this to filter my mob farm..
The first picture says that Sword/Bow/Armour/Disc (etc) are allowed through ladder, but stopped by everything else..
The second picture says Sword/Bow/Armour/Disc (etc) are allowed through iron bars?

Sorry, it's confusing me.

I meant the contrary, look at what I wrote under the pic :)
If any doubt, look at the first picture, everything on this one has been checked several times
The 2nd one was took before, and looks like I forgot to fix some stuff :p
Will update it now ;)

Batto, would you mind checking your findings against the list I compiled on the wiki?

i have a quick question on hoppers. im trying to separate clayballs from uncooked soul urns for my first auto-soul urn factory. i find no one filter separates them and i cant think of a system that will work.

I believe slats and grates both work beautifully for this.

A filter that separates blocks from items will work.

Wait...that's any filter at all.

Clay balls fall through trap doors & grates, urns does not.

Just have the current push the clay balls through the filter while the urns pass over the filter into a separate stream of water.

Okay, so since FC fixed the bug where bellows could push items that were in water; does anyone know how I can sort my arrows from my bones? I've checked the list, and everything that filters bones, filters arrows and vise versa. (that is, of course, if I didn't miss anything. which is entirely possible)

Take them out of the water first?

Still bellows, huh?

Okay, let me see... so, would it work like this: bones and arrows in water stream; items build up in the stream against a block attached to a sticky piston. after every 30 secs or so the piston drops for a few seconds to let the collected items pass. the items then fall down one block. the sticky piston extends and leaves the items high and dry right next to a bellows. bellows blows lighter items into a hopper. when piston goes down again, the water flow carries remaining items into second hopper?

eh.... I think there may be a better way of doing this.... can I get another hint?

You can use a turntable to send signals to different things every four seconds, things like gearboxes or pistons.

If you want to go vertical you could probably pull it off with some number of bellows stacked one on top of another blowing at the spot where arrows/bones would fall.
