Non-Turtle Ideas For Questions in FC's Interview

Post by Speltz »

I saw that FlowerChild seems fairly interested in setting up a voice interview, and thought that there might be some questions from the general community that the Turtles might be interested in asking.
I'm guessing that there will probably be a whole lot of crappy questions posted here because of the reasons why the interview was conceived, but with any luck there might be a couple of gems for the Turtles to select. If FlowerChild or the Turtles would rather not open up this discussion to the rest of us (the people who let him down in the first place), feel free to delete this topic.

And for the rest of us, this is a chance to redeem ourselves. Please put some thought into your questions before asking them.

-Has Mojang announced any planned features for vMC that FC is particularly interested in or excited about, or are they all pretty much going the same route as wolves?
-What is the most impressive contraption/project you've seen made using BTW content?
-Would you ever consider taking PayPal donations like some other modders, or would that cross the line from hobby to work?
-Have you considered deleting the old MCForum thread and all its nonsense, and just using this forum?

Battosay's Edit :
First Interview available here, the raw mp3 version : http://www.mediafire.com/?oamzaa5y1vv66mi
And with video support (that's just me playing, not FC's face ^^) here :

Given unlimited time, would you advance Steve up to space technology or is there a technology end point before that, that you wouldn't cross (for flavor reasons or whatever)?

Hmmm...

- Does FC have any thoughts regarding the NPC Villages coming in 1.8? Specifically, allowing them to use some of the early (hand crank level) tech from BTW?

- Have there been any user creations with the tools provided in the mod that really surprised you?
- What are you thoughts on the concept of hunger and the addition of that mechanic to vanilla minecraft?
- With the above, will the addition of hunger and stackable food impact your plans for the mod?

I'm looking forward to hearing this interview.

- What got you into Minecraft, and how long did you enjoy it before the implementation of wolves propelled you into action?
- Is Better than Wolves a mod tailored to the community, or is it just for you? Or some combination thereof? (I think I know the answer to this one already, but better to explicitly state it.)
- How can the community that loves this mod best help you?

Are you doing the interview now?

Edit: Oh, ok. I'll try and think up some more over a smoke.

Nope, drawing a blank.

My question is this: How do you feel this forum has affected you interacting with the community? Do you think it has made it easier or harder for you to converse with those of us in the community?

(On a less serious note; Would you swear just once, please?)

When you first created this mod, did you originally have the thought in mind that you knew you wanted a tech tree or did it just come at a certain point during the mod making? if so, at which point did you know?

-Do you have plans to integrate new systems (apart from redstone/mechanical) or to keep building on the two we have now?

- How many secret features, (that you never spoke of) do you still have in your pockets ?
- What's the worst : Wolfaboos, Yogaboos, copyright trolls, "Update Now" Trolls or retards giving diamonds ?

And maybe for a separate 2 hours special :
- What do you have to say about all the different music styles since what you consider to be the "good old days" ?

Thank you for taking the time to do this. It's not rambling, it's thorough and informative! I hope you guys do another soon and get those other questions answered.
A new update soon!
I think the best part of the interview is Flower's insight into the modding APIs. I had never heard anyone talk about that aspect of modding, and it's exciting to hear that there is a community growing around an open source API. I had wondered why Flower didn't accept donations and his thoughts on the skew that puts on the mod makers decision making process explains everything.
