I'll be doing a video tour for my youtube channel at some point soon, I do plan on making the world available for download as I've had a lot of requests for it, not before we've finished with the series though :)

@Mesh @Ion and @Ethinolicbob

As always, I am amazed with your work. You three are a great inspiration for aesthetic builds.

I have finished my windmill. I am not 100% on it and will likely revisit it after SFS tech (and I get access to more sidings, mouldings and corners)

Nice job! The tiered wheat fields around it are a very nice touch.

Actually, I am really not happy with the windmill, this was my inspiration:

At the moment it looks to wide/not tall enough. And even as it is the windmill blades are out of proportion.
It doesn't actually require the windmill blades as I built it around a pond and can power it with a waterwheel inside... SO I could make superficial blades...

I was mostly complementing the location and area around it, though the windmill does look decent. I do like the balcony around it.

My world as of present:

I've reached crucible tech, and just have to get production up enough to trade with villagers to get to the end.

Love that you are directly over the stronghold. Going to make trips to the (future) end farm a cinch.
Its looking really cool. Your base of operations looks awesome.
Don't worry about unnatural sections of land until you see mine :D

Its really bad at the moment, but we are modifying the terrain from the top down as we put up farmlands and pastures, so hopefully in the end it should become a bit more natural :D
I got the seed and created the world raw so I could take the areas original screenshots.
Still too many temporary building around for my liking, but its getting there.
dawnraider wrote:trade with villagers to get to the end
Yeah we have been at crucible tech for a while now, and have even located all types of villagers.
Still a LONG way from the end :D
Probably get a nether farm built on a nether fortress and unleash groth before then.

Yeah, it definitely is nice. And since spawn is literally five blocks from my first hovel, going back and forth will be super easy
Ethinolicbob wrote:Its looking really cool. Your base of operations looks awesome.
Thanks! It definitely took the longest to design and get looking just right.
Ethinolicbob wrote:Don't worry about unnatural sections of land until you see mine :D
Haha, well they're mostly intentional, though I'm not sure I like the look right now. I'll have to mess with it a bit.

Yes... this is too true. I've barely even started on trades, I've just been working on building up my base to have any excess stuff to trade.

Your base is definitely looking cool too, the Inn especially. Also, I like the way you used the cobble double slabs. I haven't found a use for them yet, but I may have to figure one out as that does look good. Maybe the floor of my windmill.

Loving the map Ethin :) Do you use any particularly special method to line the maps up? For example, I run to the very top right block of the map, make a new fully zoomed out map and then head to the verry bottom right of that map and then make a new one, and that map becomes the right side adjoining map to the original one, if that makes sense, It's hard to explain without pictures. Do you do it a different way?

Basically starting from a fully zoomed out map go out into its corners and create fully zoomed out maps. Those 4 maps will create a 2x2 map. Going to the outer corners of those maps and doing the same again will create a 3x3 map with the original map piece in the middle, and rinse repeat depending on how big you want the map

after making a full SFS beacon i discovered that i had only one ugly underground millstone and i decided to make a proper one in my town. the windmill is just aesthetics as i can't be bothered to work with redstone bugs. the power comes from a waterwheel under the water elevator.

How is everyone managing such massive wheat fields without water sources?

Unless I'm mistaken, and I could be, wheat will grow without water, just very slowly. I know that is the case in vanilla and I'd assume FC didn't change it, given Ion's pictures.

The tilled soil does revert, by itself, with no water. But if you plant wheat it will stay planted and it will grow, only slower then it would hidrated.
