nice, man! I love the netherbrick detailing, and the imposing size and shape of that gate on the side is really cool.

I havent even begun to build :)
My next megaproject will likely be a 64x64 mobtrap that will go up to the clouds and at the top will be all my beacons ;)

The other day I was about to back up one of my worlds(of which I had a pretty impressive mob trap, and lots of steel) from after the update to SS, and for some dumbass reason, I forgot that in Windows Explorer, CTRL-D means delete (not duplicate, as it does in some much older programs I think) and I deleted my world, I had no other backups, because I was just about to change them out, and my computer doesn't use the recycling bin. It's okay though because I had already sort of abandoned that world, but now I can't show you guys all the cool stuff I had.

Might be worth trying out a free software recovery program. I have never used one myself, but a few of them look solid.

First it isn't that big of a deal. Second I don't have a spinning drive, I have an SSD and I don't think it works unless you have a disk that works by leaving imprints.
Maybe I'll look into it just for nostalgia's sake though.

Then why are you going on about it in this thread, where it is distinctly off-topic despite the tenuous connection you drew to it?

My contribution rail network on PK's server.
Texture is Soartex and Derivation.
Probably around 36 stacks of whitestone and ~13 of strata-stone.
At walking speed the spacing between columns is enough to confuse ghasts- this would be safe without the Groth.

That is amazing, I might have to steal that for when I get to villager trading :)

Gil and I build this blaze farm around a spawner last stream. It has 20 spawning spaces and looks pretty :3

Figured I'd make a post for my most recent world. It is mostly me, but my one friend sometimes joins me, I might have some more people join later though.
My main base as of today, no I didn't colorize the windmill, my friend did. :P
I don't know when I took this, but this is what she used to look like.
It's crowded, but it's home.
This is the storage room I recently built. Figured I would also share the change I made to the GUI in my texture pack, I am wondering if anyone can guess why I changed the XP bar to red.
The start of a tunnel that goes to one of the villages we found. It takes about one minecraft day to ride the train because it's pretty slow.
The poor excuse for a squid farm I built.
My pig and cow grinders, simple, but they produce more food/leather than I could possibly ever use.
The cook room.
What remains of my original hidey hole from when I first spawned.
Proud that I have managed to keep this.
And this appears to be a picture taken before I finished building the windmill.

My build is still a WIP, but I am happy to share my cathedral so far!
The main entrance:
The new and improved tree of wealth, complete with villager marketplace:
The cathedral roof:
My underground work station, rebuilt after an inconvenience:
The mob grinder which saved me:

So I have looked at a lot of mechanical designs people have made and posted pictures of, and for some reason I have never seen someone do this, so I decided to post this to show how I make a bellows, and its more compact/efficient than any other way that I have seen posted:
It only needs two redstone(and one torch) because when the torch powers the redstone, the redstone powers the turntable which starts spinning in the opposite direction, so it just goes back and forth.

yhetti! I have made a video which is basically the same design, see here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dG96nycPvhE
(which is inspired by a design from very early on in this thread!)
I also made a simple dung farm, if anyone is interested:

I think the only thing is you don't really need the second redstone torch, but nice.
I'll have to check out the dung farm too.

Looking at all these builds, I just realized how small the windmill actually is. Comparatively of course.

Thought I'd rework the end portal.
Am I the only one who gets fed up with [SMP] end portals in general always being a looted wreak?

Holy balls that looks amazing, I love the arched ceiling. At first I was like, how get you move the portal into a room you made? But then I realized... yeah...

Thought I would post some photos of my progression on the server:
Step 1: The hole:
This is the original hole I made when I first spawned, everything's been taken out of it, but this is the only pic I have.
Step 2: The House:
The house I built when I grew too big for my hole, at this point other people started playing too.
Windmill in construction:
A successful house:
Step 3: Rapid Expansion:
I don't have a pic of the first mob trap, but it's just a big cube, so not very exciting
Step 4: Relocation:
After we found a village and made a small base there, we got our soul steel and decided it was nicer at the other base so we stayed.
I don't have any pics of the original village, but here are some of us building some giant structures there.
Step 4: Industrialization
My buildings looked ugly, but they darn well work.
I ripped out the mushrooms, Ill have to find a new place for them.
First I built a really nice auto-saw, I tested it a million times to make sure it didn't lose any wood; then I built an auto-pottery machine, and realized that I forgot it had to have a water source at the top, so I built a well/water pump. This pottery machine is based off of one that was posted recently, I forget by whom.
Then I took advantage of my new well and the blacksmith's lava that I luckily saved to build a cobble generator based on Noir's design, seen on the right.
A mill, and a quick little machine to help bottle souls.
Looks like I finally placed those beacons that hadn't been used yet:
A lovely little cow slaughtering machine:
Anyways, that's where I am now, we still have to work on that wall and lighting everything up in the fortress for now.
I'll probably post some more pictures later of what my original base looks like now, its very sad.
