Wait, so that sheep jumps up and down constantly, but can't move from that spot. The detector flashes the redstone torch.... DO I have this right?

That's absurd. I like it.

The sheep doesn't jump, the bellows pushes the sheep up, which causes the detector block to activate, which causes the bellows to go down, which causes the detector block to deactivate, which causes the bellows to go up, pushing the sheep up, which causes the detector block to activate...

It's doubly founded on sin, considering that cement is made with souls, and the entire pyramid was poured from a single bucket by abusing the effects of powering the source block. Sadly I didn't think to keep the original source in place.

You can also put the detector one block lower and use an item instead :)
To start it, throw an item or use a dispenser.
To stop it take the item or push it away with a piston. Or just power the GB.

What about a sticky piston and a Companion Cube?
Actually, a BD would make a better sound.

That setup relies on using an critter to ride the bellows. If you have to power a BD or piston to move a block then it's easier to just turn the gearbox on and off directly.

After looking at Anarchitect's castaway world and seeing how he used vines to make player only entrances in the cliff wall, I decided to go ahead with my open plan village house. For some reason I'm able to walk right through the vines as long as I don't glance up against the side of an entrance. I'm hoping there's a reason other than the fact I'm using glass. Although if I used sidings to offset it a little... Anyway, pictures.

Yeah, the vine thing was totally intentional and not just me letting vines grow over the holes because I don't like the look of doors in my cliff faces.

Seriously, it keeps out mobs? I didn't know that. All my intentional Mob-detering has been using trap doors. For example, I had a problem with zombies breaking the doors to my cow-pen, so I put a trap-door bar in front of it. This prevents zombies from getting to the doors to break.

On the sunject of Mr. Bellows sheep, I can never leave well enough alone. I built one to test it (incidentally, sitting dogs do NOT work), and thought, he looks sad. He needs a friend. Actually, I just hate an underutilized resource and realized that I was halfway to a sheep breeder already. So now I have a design for a tube kiln that inexplicably produces a baby sheep every 5 minutes.

I don't know if they kept all mobs out or not but I had to sneak through to avoid climbing the wall. The two zombies in the area had the same problem and wound up killing themselves by cliff diving repeatedly onto your paving.

OK, so this one is just all about the pretty. A creeper exploded in the middle of my forest patch, and I decided to work with the crater instead of simply filling the hole.

This!

I'm in the same camp. However, it does drive me to try harder in my own personal designs.

I just don't have any feel for what to make aesthetically... Everything tends to be straight lines and huge or round and huge... But usually huge and boring...

Honestly on further reflection I think I need to stick to one color of flower. It't times like this I really want more purple flowers. I'm certainly looking forward to the Sakura Trees in Kaos's add-on, they'd absolutely make this garden.

Hehe. Well purple flowers will be available, too (lavender to be specific).

I can't wait to see what y'all can do with my additions. I've never been terribly creative when it comes to Minecraft construction, and lurking this thread makes me so jealous of you guys' talents :P

Okay whilst probably not as impressive, I designed this little thing to cut down wood, mostly into gears:

The wood/Planks/Siding/Moulding/Corner is placed by Block Dispensers, Saws cut it, drop it into Hoppers where it proceeds into another Block Dispenser, unless it's below the saw, that just gets shot into the bottom hoppers. Gears just fall through without getting sawn, so any stage of wood can be put in the top.
On the internet you can be whatever you want. It's surprising so many people choose to be stupid.
