A question for cat owners...

Post by Folrig »

So, I see this Friskies commercial all the time here.

At home, at work, places I go...It may be following me.

My question:

Do cat owners feed their cats LSD all of the time or only some of the time?
This...all of this...is just...wonky!

Catnip is a mild hallucinogenic for cats and yes, they get it a lot because it's fun to watch cats get high.

Friskies is to cats what sex is to humans. Or so it seems by this ad's description.

If you can get high off catnip without inhaling enough to cross over to an oxygen deprivation high, I would be surprised. It's a member of the mint family and it's the scent that triggers with cats, not ingestion of the plant. Mine do seem to enjoy eating it all the same tho.

It's always fun to watch a cat get drugged up when they get into the catnip. I tend to make mine do backflips to calm them down.

I think the reason it's so much fun to watch cats get high is that they're normally so dignified. It's like watching an aloof aristocrat get stoned and totally lose his shit or something :)

Yikes. Not that I'd want to hang-out with tigers in general, but I can see being around a stoned tiger being even more nerve-wracking than usual.

But then you get criticized by the other cats for not being cool.

That's because when eaten, it works as a digestive aid. :)

We have a tunnel that we spray with liquid catnip, one of our cats just goes and hotboxes in there. The other cat seems entirely unaffected by catnip, but then he is already daft.

The odd thing I've noticed with catnip is sometimes it just chills them out and sometimes they just go mental.

At one point I had a toy that contained catnip. It was really weird watching my cat play with it, though, because he would start humping the air.

My friend gave catnip to their rabbit, the result was allot of kicking and pooing.

Creepers have been described as being kinda plant-y. I suspect they consist of catnip or something similar. No wonder they are afraid of cats, those cats will eat, lick and hump them!

Well, you cant smoke catnip, but you can smoke a relative of catnip. Very cool, very legal, very easy to grow in a planter.
