ipodmail does a review of Better Than Wolves

Post by Yamboyz1 »

It had been recommended to him, so he's starting a review of it that has been broken into eight parts. Here it is :)

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiVxPjb5LRE

Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ChkZyttFfg

Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCLcNWEhU9c

Part 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjLj0n2ris8

Part 5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_am1roiDNaI

Part 6: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoDjQPXKfQc

Part 7: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeyCc6VskZk

Part 8: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=es0oIKKP3e8

I feel like he got a little lazy about halfway through; He left out a lot of the later-tier blocks.

Good to see a person that's actually reviewing it by "progressing" through it (he may be using TMI, but he's not skipping parts of the tech tree), instead of just making a world with it and showing it off.

Are you going to keep updating this thread as he uploads more?

Did anyone else's eye start twitching when they saw the light blocks not being directly over the hemp? *twitch*

Seems like a good review for the most part though. And...really well timed. heh.

It pretty awkward people can still love this mod even though they have no idea how to use redstone (look how he tried to light the light blocks, and look at the roof of his farm). Still, a good review is always nice. Do you think one of the features he will show would be the incompatibility? <wink>

Yep. Saw that and knew immediately that the hemp in that farm would never grow.

thats the power of this mod man :D People that really enjoy it are willing to tackle something they considered completely above them. I am one of those people :P If it wasnt for BTW i never would have started playing with redstone.

Not sure why this is in off-topic man. For the first time ever I'm moving a thread out of here and into the main sub-forum instead of the other way around :)

I would watch them, but my wifi is playing up and I can't even view the first frame. This page took an age to load for me.

Quite nice review (start). Yes, I did twitch regarding the lightblock placements - especially since I did the same mistake back when hemp was first introduced :)

Hah! See how many likes his intro video got? Seems to me more and more people are liking the vision of FlowerChild, regardless of being able to use other forge mods with it.

Yeah, it's interesting. I've actually noticed a surge of popularity as of late despite my unpopular move away from the Forge. I think this video series may actually be what's at least partially responsible.

That and the old adage is true - Any publicity is good publicity. Just because the most vocal folk on the forums tend to be the people who can't figure things out, or are making the "I'm very disappointed in your for being an isolationist bastard" posts, it's keeping BTW at the top of the list, and keeping it in people's minds.

Well, there's a lot of factors at play right now, so I don't think I'll really know the impact of the change for a few releases.

For example, I'm sure a lot of people downloaded before realizing it was now incompatible with their other mods. A ton of people have probably also come back to Minecraft to try the release version. Many were probably (or still are) on hiatus from MC playing Skyrim, and are also starting to come back.

So yeah, I think it fairly impossible to really estimate what exactly is going on with the mod's popularity right now because there are too many external factors which may be affecting it.

Well don't forget, Minecraft is no longer beta, 1.0 is out and btw is now 1.0 compatible, the surge is expected isn't it?

You see the quote at the bottom right of each post, click that and you can quote what they said.
