This is wonderful Adjudicator, I cannot say that enough! It's already been a very enjoyable read, and we're barely into the vanilla tech tree, let alone BTW. Nice forshadowing on his want for rope. ;)

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to fake the BTW stuff for a while. I started this at work on my lunch break, on a whim, and my work computer is where I fiddle with new MC stuff, so I had 1.8 installed. I'm not sure how I'm going to resolve this. I found that the story went different ways when I actually used the save world to implement the pictures. One of the reasons I went to a new cabin so quickly was that looking at the old, piecemeal one just gives me a headache. Seriously, it's crazy how tough it is to look at the different wood blocks clashing with each other!

Maybe I can use the same seed and repeat the layout on my 1.73 version at home. I'll have to give it a try.

You can't use the same seed, it won't work. However you can just load the 1.8 world with your 1.7.3 .jar, the only weird thing will be the 1.8 blocks disapearing.

Quite an interesting and refreshing tale, I must say
It really makes me wonder about the attempts that some people are making to turn minecraft into a more realistic game.

If I were you, I would explore some the 1.8 world and later change it to 1.7.3, so as to conserve the improved biomes.
Keep up the good work!

If I wanted realism I'd go outside thank you very much.

Is it really sad that every time I see a reply to this topic, I get excited because I think that means Adjudicator has given us a new chunk?

Exactly my thoughts! But we can't always win right?

Well two weird things, the biome information will be screwed up as well, so you could get wolves spawning on plains and rain in the deserts, and snow falling in the swamps (it will be random as the 1.8+ biomes don't map to the 1.7.3 ones).
