I am planning to make a Witch TT.
So I'd like to know more about the conditions for the Witch to spawn.

Witches only spring up near the witch's hut? Or can they spawn anywhere in the swamp?
I'd like to know everyone's best practices :)

I assume TT stands for something like mob trap?
Anyway in BTW witches spawn naturally at night in swamps. And on World generation when a witch hut is spawned the game also spawns 3 witches that won't de spawn. But these are the only witches that spawn with a witch hut.

One thing to note is that witches only spawn above sea level, so make sure your farm is high enough to actually spawn them.

Umm, it still doesn't spawn underground...
I've already dug about a chunk down to bedrock...
