Oh, I get where this came from now.

- Bugger up in end, lose all gold
- builds a pig man farm, gets low output
- starts terraforming nether, realises how big a job it is
- codes lethal undergrowth to do the work instead

Is there any way to get the nether spores to grow above ground? I can see a use as a rotten flesh filter if so.

Am I right thinking the big jump in the version number is due to the exceptional new feature : disabling the end's end wall of text ?

Though one question : why bump the numbers to 3.90 ? I would have thought about a 3.8X. OR is this new Nether thing more important than it seems ?

not necessarily, FC still has an infinite number of version numbers to use, its just that he has run out of all the cool one tenth version numbers.


as for the cool new item... I smell anarchy smp uses. Actually, I was recently thinking that in a smp server, the biggest problem with anarchy play would be contesting the nether simply because the nether is smaller than the overworld. Which would force players to spawn closer to each other despite being far away in the overworld. With this new item, you now have an extremely valuable form of defense against unwanted intruders while you are away from you nether base.


That, and as mention before, it does seem like a very useful device for terraforming the area for that mob trap of yours.

btw, has anyone tried mining the block under the fully grown spores?

-The spores are crafted using the 2 mushrooms, Nether wart, Dung, Soul Urn and a block of mycelium. You have to visit a mushroom island (and get Mycelium) in order to obtain those...things.
-There seems to not be a way to transport them - a player must either craft spores (using a costly Soul Urn) or use the landscape to move them.

I don't know whether this is specifically BTW related or perhaps something to do with BTB / The vat, but upon opening my inventory in Creative mode within my current or a brand new test world, I crash. Is anybody else experiencing similar problems?

BTB is not currently supported.

Creative is no longer and never will be supported.

Please take these issues to Tech Support and do not clutter the release thread.
