Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders

Post by shoegun56 »

So, a few days ago I built my new pc, and I installed BTW and started a new world and started playing as usual, nothing new....

But then, as a test, I wanted to try out Sonic Ether's shaders mod, just for the purpose of seeing how well my graphics card could handle it, and I just want to say; It. Is. Super. Epic. Stuff.
I am so amazed of this mod, it's the best mod that changes visual effects of Minecraft, a new standard mod that I will playing with from now on :)
It is indeed a little bit buggy underground, but that's a bug I think will be fixed in near future, as all on it's forums and the thread itself are crying about it.

But other than that, I highly recommend you check it out if you have a discent graphics card :)

Sadly it doesn't play nice with optifine. Actually a lot doesn't play with optifine.

Screw optifine, I'll use MCP for high res support and go play with shaders.... Thanks for the reminder Shoegun.

I believe the original GLSL shaders mod does not require optifine?

optifine isn't really compatible with BTW. Look at the tech support thread on it for how to install them both, but its still a bit buggy.

Yeah, hd textures are a little bit buggy, not something to be worried about or anything, but the're a little bit messed up on the sides

Tried to run it with BTW myself (using the standard prescribed fix for making Optifine work with BTW, and installing everything before adding the Shaders mod), and I got that bizarre error I have sometimes seen others get where BTW appears multiple times in the Mods Loaded list and it encounters a Block ID error trying to add Soulforged Steel Blocks to an ID already occupied by... Soulforged Steel Blocks. If anyone has a working setup, I'd like to know what you have done.

On it's own, though, the mod is just incredible.

(note: If you're like me and wanted to try the Ultra DOF v09 configuration, you're probably wondering what was up with all the crazy flying specks in the air. It's a configuration bug you can fix.)

Edit: Link fixed.
