Mechanical power not working at all

Post by pixlo8 »

I can use a hand crank to generate power and thats about it, it wont travel through axels, or rather nothing will make any power to put in them, it is not an issue with gearbox direction, it simply generates no power at all, help?

I'd send this to bug reports or tech support.

We're also going to need more information. What version of BTW do you have installed? How did you install it? Do you have any other mods installed? It sounds to me like you are missing a critical file somewhere and probably need to re-install BTW.

There are only two items that generate mechanical power - the windmill and the waterweel. Gearboxes themselves do not generate mechanical power, only transfer it.

Would there be a problem with overlapping installations of other mods, I doubt toomanyitems would interfere, but it may

Multiple mods that overwrite the same base class could have issues. TMI is usually said to work, though. I would still suggest a clean install and trying it again. There's a possibility you accidentally a file.

Screenshots of a build is what we really need. In 99.9% of the cases, it's an issue with how you set-up your blocks.

Make a simple system and give us some screens to work with.

Handcranks can't transfer power to gearboxes. Only windmills and waterwheels can. You must place the handcrank right next to the device you want to power. And some can't even be powered by handcranks, like saws.

How are you defining "no power" I don't see anything attached to that gearbox that would use any power.

From which direction are you powering the millstone from? Millstones can only be powered from the top, or the bottom - not the sides.

Perhaps there was no smoke because Particles are set to minimum? Just a thought
