First gameplay on anarchy:

Found 6ish bases.
3 moderately sized, 2 of which unknown owners and 1 belonging to FaceFoiled (according to dark)
1 large (looking at you, cow).

Looted quite a bit, 3 stacks of iron and 7ish coal stacks (thanks FF!).
Destroyed cow's spider and skeleton spawner, and did some annoying to his slimespawner.
Burned all the stuff at cow and face that I didn't want/couldn't carry (primarily the latter...)

Good first play.

Oh, and I found shoe's base. Fing lockette'd chests.

Yeah for some reason the permissions are still not removing the lockette stuff. I have not included them on Anarchy and even disallowed them from Anarchy on top of that. I poked some permission wizard, and apparently it has to do with lockette itself. This should be resolved already with their recent update, but that is for 1.2.3, so I can't really use that right now.

I might have actually fixed it by now. Same guy that looked through my permissions to spot possible errors figured a way around the plugin bug and fix it through permissions. Can't really test it atm (work) but should be sorted. =)

On another note;

I did Jorgebonafe's puzzle last night, and loved it! It was pretty cool, and I would love to see more things like that. =)

IDK if you fixed placement, but locked containers are still locked.

Anything that was previously locked would indeed still be locked. I'd have to move around to remove that, can't do that with a buttonpush sadly.

There seems to be something wrong with the permissions... I got mcmmo on anarchy, and when I placed a chest I got a message saying I could put a sign on it to lock it. ( I didn't lock it though, don't worry, no reason to come after my hideout :P )

Yep, already being worked on. Think I got it set to disable the mcmmo and lockette now. Have to find the specific permissions to disable, for some reason (a bug) with the permissions plugin, it won't disable the entire plugin sometimes based on a general branch. :P

From the [player] starved to death messages I have seen, I would say not Orange. Hasn't really been much of a problem for me lately though.

Anyhow, after having my base found again (twice!) I think I am going to stay out of anarchy for a bit. Too hard to juggle both worlds with my limited time now that the work season has started again. Going to have to get working on the arena, it is really boring with just a wide open area. Should be able to spend a decent part of Saturday on it.

Word. I feel that way too. I would like to play Anarchy but I can't start up a base without a significant time investment on my part. I've hardly even been on the regular world as it is. Past few days I've been working on my BTW world, need to get back on the server soon.

FF, what are your thoughts on this?

Having a limit would stop people from just walking a few thousand blocks into a direction to hide their base, and force clever hiding.
Zaikantos wrote:Are there any plans to limit the world size in anarchy? Having an infinite world is IMO recipy for boredom.

Here are some bukkit plugins for it

It can be big, but there should be a limit.

I also think a limited world size would be a good idea.

It's far too easy to hide at the moment if you go far from the spawn. Equally it takes some of the fun out of trying to find bases.

Thanks for considering it.

On the subject of anarchy-related plugins,
http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/autosneak/
I'm not sure if it is for whatever version of bukkit edolas is running, I'm not familiar with the naming and stuff, but this'd be great for anarchy.

Server is going down in roughly 30 minutes, at 20:00 GMT. During this time I will do a full backup of the server, all worlds - nethers, plugins etc.
Following that I will update it to 1.2.3, I know 1.2.4 is out now, but well, can't please all :P.

Well, you can probably use your .jar from your BTW install, or you could use a program like MCNostalgia, which (legally) provides differential patching to backdate your client. Or, if you use MCPatcher to install mods or get HD textures, you should have a copy of it from when you used it in 1.2.3.

I've got a portable install, when an update comes out, I copy that, update it and copy the version file back into my old install so that I'm not pestered by the constant update reminders.
