Idea for pulley bridge

This might have been brought up before but I thought it a cool idea.

Concept:
Moving bridge paltform

Utilizing pulleys to pull a platform horizontally.
Uses to create a bridge that moves over ravines, mountains, lava, sky track.

Do not know how practicle but thought it seemed cool.

Would require pullys to work horizantally and possibly another block for power transmisson, maybe use axles in place of rope, which would provide paltform stability and means of transmittitng power over the system, enable a lever to maybe stop it mid way through.

Some ideas that are so common, they are bound to earn you scorn (and a locked thread) if you repost them:

-Diamond bladed saws.

-Ropes/Pulleys pulling Platforms sideways.

-Steam power.

-A means of generating mechanical power out of redstone.

Also, in general, you should search the idea subforum to see if your idea has already been proposed before posting it. Generally, repeat suggestion threads are shut-down.

Not saying you're one, just giving you sort of a taste of the overall feel for these kinda things.
