Yeah, to be specific it is so that adventure map creators can create Zelda-style vases where breaking them can reveal an item. It also allows for interesting situations where say the player needs to shoot a vase with a bow, to drop an item and trigger a pressure plate or what have you.Katalliaan wrote: Hence why it's for adventure maps. It surely narrows things down by a lot. Think that it could be "between now and the end of time". So, thanks for the time estimate !FlowerChild wrote:If it helps any, I strongly suspect this new feature will be ready for release within the next six months ;)

We actually hadn't thought of the bow thing yet, but we were planning on using vases extensively on the map we're working on.FlowerChild wrote:Yeah, to be specific it is so that adventure map creators can create Zelda-style vases where breaking them can reveal an item. Small moment of weekness. It passed. Too bad now I'm dead, possessing my PC, trapped and destined to stay here forever waiting on new BTW's releases....FlowerChild wrote:Hmmm...must talk to the PR firm about discouraging suicide unless captured by the enemy.

I can make some calls, if you want. I don't think we have any humans available for soul capsulation. But I can get you a chimpanzee or a poison dart frog for a nice price.jorgebonafe wrote:Small moment of weekness. It passed. Hmmmm...come to think of it, there would definitely be a wide-range of uses for a disembodied consciousness floating around in the net within the new world order.jorgebonafe wrote: Small moment of weekness. Not as useful as you might think. I still have to use google to find stuff, and still can't find the deep web...FlowerChild wrote:Hmmmm...come to think of it, there would definitely be a wide-range of uses for a disembodied consciousness floating around in the net within the new world order.

Yeah, I guess it does kinda suck :)

These hints are going to drive me crazy! I trust however that nothing but pure greatness can come of Tom Waits and Nick Cave.

The ability to throw poop and eat it ?? I want it

The update will be have somewhere between 1 and 3856 new features.FlowerChild wrote: If it helps any, I strongly suspect this new feature will be ready for release within the next six months ;)
Re: Eureka!
If those musical hints are not just trolling, and considering FC's been playing BuildCraft and SpaceChem... If this is what I think it might be, it'll be awesome!
Oh, who am I kidding. I call musical-teaser-troll. ;)

Re: Eureka!
For today's hint, I will say that this is probably the most complex feature I've put into the mod, second only to the Pulleys & Platforms.
This shit be crazy :)

I knew it was villager breeding. Adding in a complete seduction system has to be complicated.FlowerChild wrote:For today's hint, I will say that this is probably the most complex feature I've put into the mod, second only to the Pulleys & Platforms.

Re: Eureka!

Re: Eureka!
So... we can set up an assembly line of villagers who will cry into the brewing stand to automate potion making while tossing milk?
The spice must flow...

Re: Eureka!
Yeah, I don't think it'll be as bad. The main technical challenge is that I'm trying to cram what would normally take at least 8 bits of meta-data into the 4 that the game provides (the only other alternative being to use a Tile Entity, which would be totally unreasonable for this application). The eureka involved how exactly I can do that, however, it complicates the code a great deal as I have to special-case a ton of situations based on the limited information I have stored.walker_boh_65 wrote:Hopefully less of a pain to code I hope.
It's one of those features that won't look all that complex unless you're a programmer and find yourself wondering "how the fuck did he do that?". However, it will remain very cool for everyone else, and hopefully even on low end systems given my choice of implementation :)
Speaking of Pulleys & Platforms, anyone else notice how a conceptually similar feature has turned into a development black-hole for a certain modder? Hopefully that serves to explain why I limited my own implementation to keep the scope reasonable :)

By any chance was Jeb's write up on how he fixed doors at all an influence in this?
