A question for FC reguarding SMP

You have said in the past that eventually you intend to make BTW SMP, but when you do that are you also going to make a Bukkit version?

Logic would dictate that the answer is no. Since the Minecraft API is impending in the months to come, and the supposed code merge between client and server that FC has said in the past is the thing he's waiting for with SMP is not likely to occur until after the API is released, you can assume it won't be Bukkit based, but rather official/BTW API based.

And the question is kinda pointless atm, since we do not have the slightest clue how things will be once the api rolls out and the smp and ssp code is consolidated into one (IF this ever happens).

This is important.

I think that in the future, Bukkit will be almost like vanilla. In any case, wait and see. If Bukkit support is something that is really important to have, I'm sure we will be able to lobby FlowerChild for it, just as we persuaded him to take on ModLoader in the past.
