Removing 15 min on youtube.

I know that if you provide your cell number to google your vid limit is going to be removed. I also know that a few here have done so. I'm just curious if anything happned afterwards? is any spam coming to your phone or unwanted calls?

Nope, never got any spam on my phone.
I gave my phone number when i created my youtube account, 4 years ago, and nothing bad to report.
Though giving your phone number isn't what gives you the possibility to upload videos >15 min.

That's a requirement now. At least through a google account.

Yup, that is a requirement now to remove the 15 min thing, unless you get are eligible to become a youtube partner (have to apply for that). That would instantly remove the limit as well I think.

So far I have never received a random phonecall of text due to this. No spammage, so go for it. :)

Seriously, though, I never knew that. That's kinda... ruddy, though. Sucks that you don't have to actually work for that reward anymore. I remember when lifting the 15 minute limit was a reward for actually bringing in views.

EDIT: Oh, and on the topic, I don't recall ever getting a single phone call from Google or YouTube. All the work between myself and the website with finances and everything is through emails.

This is kinda strange, I gave youtube my number a long time ago. But just yesterday I got my first txt spam shit...
