Making Charcoal in the Kiln

With the new changes to log fire mechanics and the enhanced kiln cook times, whenever I attempt to make charcoal in the kiln the log catches on fire and converts to cinders before it can cook all the way. I can't even put the fire out by punching it since fires can no longer be extinguished by hand.

Yup, this is all by design. You have the means at your disposal to stop it happening.

Ah I see. I think I know how to do it but I'll have to experiment a bit to be sure.
