Anyone have a good concreete demonstration?

Post by Beerkeg »

It's kinda funny but IRL I'm doing concrete forms.. And yet in this game so far the only thing i have been able to build without completely griefing my own house is some flooring.
Anyone here have a Concrete pouring video? I'm really curious to see how you guys are working this marvelous BTW addition.

With Regards, Beerkeg

Battosay's built a smoothstone generator using it, might want to check his video thread.

how i do it is in 3x1 selections:
[ ]-block
[x]-where i place cement
[o]-cement
[/]-air

Code: Select all

[ ] [x] [ ]
[ ] [ ] [ ]
[o] [o] [o]
where it reaches the ground:
[/] [o]
[/] [o]
[ ] [o] [o] [o] [o] [ ]
It makes it so the cement must flow down, then which ever way you want your floor

Basically this... another trick I found is that you can create dirt 'molds' of the area you want to fill with concrete... such as this

[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]

or this... (for large standing walls...)

[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]
[][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][]

where this is dirt: [], and the other [] is space yet to be used/where you will begin to apply cement to...

Mind the spread rate for each process, as there is a hard flow cap for how far cement will travel before hitting it's limit...
I'm not trying to come off as strong as I do. It's hard for me to personally see how I'm affecting others (even in real like).. and it makes me seem more of an ass than I want to be, so I apologize if you find what I say 'a bit rough'...

I think another way to make moulds is with Wool, then burn it down, if you have a friendly mob farm for all the wool.

Yeah, but afaik the rate of fire spread is quite low (thanks to it's nerf back in 1.4 or 5.. idr tbh), so I don't think it'll burn all the blocks effectively like you would hope... Plus, dirt is easy to dig away, and you can use a shovel instead of a pickaxe to remove it, and not accidentally destroy your newly created wall in the process..
