Virtual Servers for BTW?

Post by Dale »

I am just curious if hosting providers like say Creeperhost allows you to use "mods" like Better Than Wolves and if so what would be the best option? I currently know of only Creeperhost and they show how to install modpacks but nowhere did I find any information on installing other mods that you yourself would choose.

Thanks in advance for any information as I am eagerly wanting to start a BTW server of my own and have the desire to do it right from the first attempt.

Most good hosts will allow you to upload a custom server jar.

Icy is right but to be more specific your looking for FTP (or file transfer protocol). this means you can edit the files over the internet using a program like filezilla.

if they don't offer FTP, don't use them, having mod support is irrelevant as you will just need to upload a new jar file yourself anyway.
Why not? Because it would have made sense!

I got a server here when the guy first started up: https://www.kbgservers.com

It is the smallest size and he was very helpful when I start out. I use a separate FTP client to get the jar up and d/l the map periodically.

So many frauds out there I am happy the service has been legit.
