I've got one. I hate the bug where spiders that aggro you during night keep aggro during daytime, until they take fall damage (any non-player damage). Having that spider jump at me and lose interest after landing is a big immersion breaker I think.

This has always bugged me as well, saved my life many times yes, but it definitely is off

That's a good one actually. I wasn't aware that fall damage cleared the effect.

ryoloth wrote:I think something that has never felt right since i started really using vine traps for more than mob farms, is spiders. they fall through them yet they should be able to climb on the vines as they do webs. it blew my mind when i was cowering in fear that 2 spiders had me cornered from across my vine trap/trapdoor bridge and the only thing i had with me at the moment was my almost broken stone axe, yet as they came to kill me, they vanished. it was definitely a WTF moment for me and has irked me ever since.
That would also make vine traps fairly useless for overworld mob trap construction, pretty much nullifying their existence.

Not a very reasonable observation given the limited scenarios under which that would have a positive gameplay effect.

Abandoned mine shafts never seemed right to me. I get that there supposed to be dungeons (as in game play dungeons) but why the broken down, caved in theme? Why have supports? There are no cave ins, no gravity, in minecraft. That's kinda a staple of the minecraft world.

Perhaps because the previous inhabitants didn't realize this physical law. They don't have the near godlike power and knowledge that Steve can acquire.

At least that's the first thing that came to mind.

Maybe the inhabitants of the world have yet to have their Newton equivalent to discover the law of lack of gravity. Maybe that's also why all the apples are falling from oak trees.

Or maybe...without such assumptions the MC world would be a formless void with floating blocks everywhere since there's nothing holding them together...

Or maybe I'm running out of face palms...

I guess the previous inhabitants came from a world with gravity, and decided to keep this building trait as an homage to their culture. However, they got tired of the world and it's boring, undeveloped mechanics. If only they had waited a little longer!

I have always looked a MC as a fractured reality, so things like floating islands I can ignore with that mind set. Steve's will becomes an important force in MC world, that is why he can force things to take shape in the crafting bench, so I can ignore him making diamond blocks and such. The plants of the MC world are not the plants from Steve's world, but Steve call them what they look like to him. So I can ignore things like apple-oaks. Wile I do agree with Panda about the lame melons stalks sucking. I don't see them as melons of our world so I can't hate on them to much.

The thing that bugs me is how when tools break they leave nothing behind or when anything breaks and leaves nothing behind.
Is it better to have posted and failed or to have never posted at all?

I always assumed they just left this world involuntarily, by way of one of those big L-shaped houses that are never fully lit.

It pays to learn the natural laws of the world you live in...

Maybe these are the remnants of all those civilizations which mysteriously disappeared? Maybe these are the descendants of the Maya which for some reason where transformed anew into barely sentient squidwards?

Three pages and no one has mentioned the unholy reach of Steve's arms?

He's obviously telekinetic. With a limited range. And his has to punch the air to make it work.

Actually that's totally realistic. Real-life big cats will almost always run from a human unless cornered.

...not that realism is or ever was the point of this game.

Eh, fair enough. Still think it's weird I can steal the chicken almost straight from it's mouth...

I love how people assume that the Maya's are extinct. The Maya's still very much exist all over the Americas. It really bugs me when people make that false assumption.

Uh, sorry which was extinct? I may have been thinking about the Aztecs or more probably the Inca if I remember correctly.

Anyway, it always felt off that you don't sink with a boat when you're decked out in full SFS armor.

It's hard to find figures, because all three people used to have a thriving civilization that collapsed. As far as I can tell, there's still large populations (6 million Maya's in Mexico, couple million Inca's in Peru for example) of Maya's and Inca's, but not a lot of the Aztecs remains. There's about 2.5 million Aztecs left it seems.

I don't think any of the three went anywhere, though all three had big civilizations at one point, that don't exist anymore. Saying they went extinct is like saying the Romans went extinct. It doesn't quite work like that ;).

I personally love it when people talk about how England is ruled by the English - my response is always to ask them to judge which family is richer based solely on the names: The Mandevilles or the Smiths. Mandeville being a Norman name, Smith being derived from Old English.

England is ruled by Germans actually, they haven't been ruled by Normans in a while :)

I love how the English monarchy changed their family name after WWI.

Fast/Fancy leaves. It's a graphic setting, why does it affect more than just the texture?

Woosh- back on topic.
