Golden Dung Speculation/Investigation (Spoilers)

Straight forward: Lets figure out what it's used for.

So far I have tried the following with no results
- Throwing it at the Ender Dragon
- Throwing it at the Wither
- Throwing it at a Zombie
- Throwing it at a Villager
- Throwing it into the Nether/End portals

- I also tried "using" it on the above mobs
- I have not yet tried different crafting combinations as the prospect is somewhat overwhelming and I haven't decided where to start.

Nop, doesn't craft into a block. Sky and I tried some stuff the other day on the official server. Lots of no go's.

-doesn't brew into anything
-doesn't spoil food in the cauldron
-doesn't tan leather

+does smelt down into into 8 gold nuggets in the crucible.

I'm ashamed to say I have spent time playing with poo in trying the following:

-Can't be used in potions
-Sheep, cows, and pigs ignore it in my hand and when trying to use it on them.
-It does not react with food in an unstoked cauldron. As in food doesn't spoil and continues to cook as normal.
-It does not react with each of the following or any combination of these in an unstoked cauldron:
- Saw dust
- Hellfire dust
- Coal dust
- All variations of leather
- Logs
- Brimstone
- Gunpowder
- Fusses
- Hemp Fibers
- Elements
- Filaments

Anyone done anything with ancient manuscripts and golden dung yet?

i get the feeling golden dung is more of a statement then a feature. in other words it was most likely added to reflect FC's attitude towards mojang's currenly accepted and rather limited uses for gold. hence "it dosnt do anything."

However that being said i could also very well be horribly wrong and golden dung will be the next big feature for BTW once its usefulness is discovered. but i guess i wanted to get the possibility out there, that maybe it dosnt have an ingame use other then being useless :)

Painting a face on it and calling it Wilson restores your sanity meter it seems.

The problem with that is that I will be obliged to suggest "Hardcore nipple clamps" to go with it and that will get me banned.

That would just be silly given the gold plating would prevent its effective use in such a manner. This is obviously a feature much more appropriate to traditional dung.

Now now, let's not get carried away. I don't think I've ever banned anyone for making suggestions involving nipple clamps, unless I was supposed to be on the receiving end of them.

Then it would be "Glistering Dung", not "Golden Dung". Got to stay consistent with vanilla functionality after all, and requiring only a single gold nugget to craft it wouldn't balance well with its uses.
