Awesome man, I am so glad to see this add-on back in action. I did miss my cargo barge. :) Keep up the good work!

Just wanted to thank you for updating this to 1.3.2

Questions:

Is this multiplayer?

Does it work with 4.16 BTW?

Multiplayer, no. Most, if not all addons will be waiting until MC 1.4 to port to SMP.

And yes, it works with BTW version 4.16, and it should work with most releases of BTW.

For some reason, the fruit isn't working for me. I powered the juicer mechanically. Though mind you, I am trying to use the mod with bigtrees and optifine installed.

Apologies for the necro-post, but this seems to be a very slow-moving subforum (especially for mods and not texture packs). Anyway, will you be continuing work on this mod, Sargunster? I really love what you've come up with so far and was looking forward to continuation and updates alongside BTW, but this fell out-of-date long before I found it and got interested.

Even if it's done for, though (and I apologize if this was stated/confirmed elsewhere-- I've really no idea where else to look), great job on the mod so far! The features are really well-implemented, and I love the fun additions to BTW stuff that feel entirely optional. I like that the boats and the juicer and whatnot aren't required parts of the tech tree, they're just optional "perks" that feel like stronger reinforcement for reaching certain rungs of the tech tree. I honestly wish FlowerChild did this more, because it often feels (to me, anyway) like each new addition quickly becomes a pre-requisite for a later addition, and never is an addition just to be an addition.

Anyway... Again, great job, and I'd love to/hope to see more!

I do plan on continuing to work on the mod, but I have no idea when it'll be. My first priority is fixing the issues with the boats from the 1.3 update. I have had some ideas for new features, but they probably will not be added to the mod for a while.

That's exactly the kind of thing I was going for. My goal was to add a few features to provide "bonuses" for reaching certain parts of the tech tree without creating entire new branches of the tech tree.

Well then, that's excellent to hear. I first played Better Than Wolves back in (I think) May of 2011, when the tech tree pretty much didn't exist. I liked that each piece of the mod just felt like an organic extension of Minecraft that fit the flavour of the game and added some really neat features. While I do really like BTW as it is today, I know it has lost that feeling of being "Minecraft Plus" for me, as the focus of the game has now been redirected. Your add-on is really appealing to me because it brings back that feeling of nice, interesting, extra features that don't just feel like another step in a staircase, but aren't just given out to players like cheap candy in November.
It's a really nice touch that compliments what BTW offers, and now that you've confirmed you intend to continue work on it eventually, I *definitely* look forward to future updates.

Sargunster,

I've update most of the code for your addon to 1.4.2.
There was one function I couldn't figure what it did. something about item color?
There are a few graphical gliches, properly related to that function I couldn't figure out.

I have not tested everything. However Fruit trees are spawning in my world..

Is this code on Github? I'll send up the patch.

I appreciate the offer, but I prefer to do the update myself. I'm just waiting for MC 1.4.4.

Cool.

I had updated, it for my own enjoyment. Figured I should at lest offer to share.

Having source code has really helped me learn about modding.
Thanks for posting it.

Konnichiwa from Japan!

Recipe unavailable because they do not correspond to the four types of woodplanks you are either fix in the next version?

Quick feature request, a way to sort fruit in a water flow.

I seem to recall FC adding a function for Add-On's to how items get sorted in the hopper.
Can't find it in the release notes, so maybe I imagined that..

Another idea would be change each fruit's buoyancy, thus when in a water flow it enters a hopper.

And by the way I'm loving my Apple and Bananas tree grove.
Although, I'm learning that I really despise MC water physics. I can't seem to get it just right. sigh.

Updated to MC 1.4.5 and BTW 4.37. Large boats are still buggy.

Thanks for the update, but for some reason it appears not to work for me. Fresh 1.4.5 jar, install modloader and BTW. Game launches fine. If I drop SVMod_2-3alpha.zip into the mods folder, however, MC crashes on startup with this error:

Woohoo, my favorite BTW addon is current once again! :)

Er... one question, though, since I don't currently have a "safe" way to test it without potentially ruining my worlds - I know there is no SMP support but will this work okay with LAN play?

I haven't tested it, but I know that the boats will certainly have additional problems in LAN play. The other features may or may not work.

Oh, I've been playing with it on the LAN. Sense well, they added LAN. Never gave it much thought, guess I better go and do some testing.

Things I know are working are:
  • Fruit trees
  • Color Sensors
  • Steel boats
I've just started using Sensors, and Juice. I'll get back to you if I have any problems.
I don't use Tweaks or Nether.

Making Apple juice is broken. The apples just float on top of the water.

I found that if you cut the water supply to the juicer, apply the apples, then let the water flow in it will make apple juice in LAN....

I don't know if anyone else has encountered this, but I think BTW 4.40 broke the mod. MC crashes on start with this error:

This doesn't happen with 4.38, which runs fine. I would guess that this is due to some of FC's aesthetic block refactoring.
I hate to always be showing up here with crashes and bugs, but it sucks to not be able to play in my main world. I'm really enjoying the work you do here man, keep it up :)
