A side goal I always start to work towards in any world is to have a secret location that has at double chest full of every item in the game. Much more complicated with BTW worlds.

I tend to have a chest for each and every block/item in the game. ;)
Jokes, I tend to sum up the contents of my chests into about 8 categories.

Over 40 categories, and over 200 hundreds of chests in my first (and now old) BTW world.
Barely over 20 in my LP world. For now.

Hehe...yeah, I have chests that contain a single instance of each item and block in the mod, and currently just the blocks take up a full chest and a bit, and the items fill slightly less than 1 chest.

You won't be able to do it with a single chest ;)

My last world with a storage room had 64 double chests plus about 10 more in various locations where I was building at the time or just needed temporary storage (e.g. my branch mine).

My current world is so far just a bunch of projects where I put down a chest whenever I feel like it, I think it's got about 23 double chests dotting my base area plus one at my xp farm and one in the Nether.

Mine is more in the range of 300, my mob-trap is taking the piss on storage !
But I don't feel right throwing any of it away :/

I normally just catagorise each of mine - a chest for cobblestone and it's stairs/slabs, stone brick and it's stairs/slabs, stone and it's slabs + pillars, sand and glass, sandstone and slabs, brick and...you get the idea. And now that chests can be put directly above chests, I hide double chests under all my floor-level double chests to hold any excess crap I cba sorting. Normally cobblestone.

Unless Jeb plans on bringing chests back to the size of a full block, I would say so. If I understand the way Minecraft blocks work, chests need to be a non-opaque block in order to be the size they are, and only an opaque block over a chest will keep it from opening.

I wouldn't count on that man. It would be an *extremely* easy change to add in an exception for chests, and would be consistent with how they behave.
