Cow's Jumping Fences
I just had a cow in a fenced in area just big enough for the cow. I hit the cow with a sword and it jumped out of the fence. Has anyone else seen this?

Yes. Fences are buggy. That's why I usually make my cow pens like this (Sideview):
X is Any block, usually dirt or stone, G is Grass (note the empty space above G). The Grass has a double purpose of leaving some grass the cows can't eat to spread to the ground, and its also at head level, so they can't bug into the wall and suffocate.

I wouldn't use fence gates either. Had some strange things happen with them till converted to doors.
