Hiracho's Dynamic Lighting!
Ever wondered why the torch in your hand wasn't lighting up the place? Me too! Well.. This tiny Add-on should fix that for you..

Changes:

Currently makes crude and nethercoal torches light up the area you are walking. It's pretty limited (for now)and will only light an area if your head is in an airblock

Compatability
Updated for CE 1.4.1 (old version available that probably works fine for anything at least CE 1.1.0)

This add-on isn't compatible with Yany's stuff and things

To play this add-on with Fatty Foods, please download the correct version in that thread instead.

This addon is the real deal! :D

This is one of those gameplay tweaks that so fundamentally changes the way you think about a certain mechanic (light) that it is difficult to quantify its impact. There was an awesome moment where I dove into a cavern to escape a pack of zombies, a torch in hand to guide my rapid descent. It is also very nice to just pull out a torch to peek into shallow caves and pits--you could even say it feels natural.

BTW as a survival game has always been held back by the extreme simplicity and gamey-ness of Minecraft. Addons like this help to overcome some of that.

I know Hiracho is already aware of this, but for anyone else: version 1.0.2 of this addon is explicitly *not* compatible with btw CE 1.3.X, and will cause crashes if you try to install them together (specifically when crouching, I think). I mean, that's a good default assumption: if an add-on doesn't say it's updated for a new CE version, it probably won't work. But it's definitely true in this case.

Thanks Crimson, I forgot to make that more clear in my post! I've updated it with a more noticeable note.. Had hoped that by now I would have already found the time to fix it :(
