Re: Peter Molyneux interview on RPS is..harsh.

Games journalism, ladies and gentlemen. Say what you will about Peter Molyneux, but don't open an interview with "Do you think that you’re a pathological liar?".

The way I've heard it is that the whole pay-to-win drama was exaggerated - you can buy airdrops, but the drops are supposed to fall in contested areas so players fight over them. A few streamers bought them, the drops went uncontested, reddit went nuts. At any rate, buying an early access version of...

They are going to have a more realistic inventory system so you will have to build things to help you transport materials. Whenever I hear "realistic" regarding video games I cringe, because it usually means tedious. So that holds no interest for me. I found space engineer's inventory sys...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

I just heard they want to produce a Minecraft movie, but they have no idea of what story to tell with it; gave me such a good laugh. German Video, sorry. here they say, that they have no idea about the story... This side is in English Imo if vanilla had gone the way FC did they now could tell a won...

Re: The BTSM/BTW divide

For the flipping issue - I remember back when I was testing the FAR version I often had to do stupid things like sticking a handful of flat rockomax adapters at the bottom of my lifting stages to offset the non-aerodynamic payloads. Any flat surface near the top of a rocket was a risk. But hey, enou...

Can't go home just yet - FC kinda got distracted by kerbal space program, and did what FC does best. Go have a look.

It's like BTW, in space. In spirit, anyways.

Sand-fed auto tree farm. I have a thread knocking around here in off-topic from...years back? from when I got bored and decided to see what I could make in vMC, came up with that. Since I doubt I can find the thread, I'll give you the basics: - It's made up of lots of little very similar pieces - re...

I beg to differ about the one trick pony. Scrolls is an amazing game. True. I just looked at thier main page - havn't missed much since I last looked at it, but it seems they're aiming for a full release this autumn with a demo version, an in-game market (for trading - kinda important usability upg...

Re: Yogventures blows a cool half mil

Yeah, I'm going to keep an eye on it for a while (I'm saving up for a graphics card anyways, less money spent now = more awesome later) - but now that I know that the guys making it are technically competant when making games, it's looking far more attractive than just terraria in space. ...and now ...

Terraria and Starbound are by 2 different companies. Starbound is by Chucklefish, whose founder, TIY was the spriter of terraria, NOT the programmer (Terrarias programmer is Redigit). Huh. I hadn't realised that starbound was made by the same guys who made risk of rain - my interest is suddenly pea...

Ah, I heard about this. My surprised reaction to hearing about it was almost enough to make me blink. almost . While it may not directly be thier fault, it was still a very hyped project, with thier name on it, that they encouraged thier fans to fund. And the majority of funders will likely be happy...

Coestar and some mindcrack guys are doing a bit of a playthrough; it's not the most thrilling content in the world, but if you like thier humour it's a good watch. I'm very much looking forward to trying it once the bugs have been ironed out (well, to the level that normally happens in DF) - when I saw the new release announcement in the monthly report I picked up the then current version and have been playing it again. DF is a lot more enjoyable with a decent...

I tried keeping up with it - I still maintain that it's a very good concept and potentially fun game - but eventally I couldn't see any value in sticking around anymore. Between the main playerbase being very much veterans, the lack of any low-level players and the sheer lengths of games...It's just...

I don't think overclocking is going to be in my near future - I'm suffered through sub-par performance playing most games on low graphics settings for a long time, so just average performance will probably have me happy in the meantime.
