Re: Water Usage
whats the problem in opening it ? And standing water moving a wheel ? There's nothing wrong with opening. It just seems to easy to remove one wood block and have a endless water source to power everything. It would be challenging if that small body of water ran out. I never said anything about stan...

Protip: when building things like an areal base or a large vertical piston farm hold shift constantly, and don't be a daredevil. And even then, make sure that if you do fall that you can easily retrieve your items when you die. Level of experience with the above topic: several intimate liaisons wit...

Re: Upcoming design change: The Endermen are coming
I hope the endermen become smart enough to build a ramp over a castle wall or something to let creepers in, or dig a door through your walls, or pull critical gearboxes out of machines, or something that would make them interesting instead of just another useless mob. With the teleportation thing, t...

Re: A way to empty dirt/grass/soulsand planters
If you wanted to be able to swap out dirt and soul sand in your planter, you could set it up like the hopper than can swap out grates, ladders, soul sand, wicker, etc. The problem with this is that it requires tile entities to store this information, which could cause lag for people with huge plant...

I haven't done much in java though, so I'm mostly speaking in generalities here, I've done most of my work in .net languages (or older stuff, like vb6 or C) no dude, thank you much! i was seriously scratching my head when i saw the blank spaces and thought i had done something wrong the first time ...

You should get Flan's Mod or SDK's guns, grab a minigun or flamethrower, and spend a couple of hours having an epic quest to rid your world of the infestation.Extreme Boyheat wrote:It would certainly help against that infinite villager breeding bug. Re: Pumps Breaking / Disabling Do To Items
Personally I like the idea. Pumps should be screwed up when someone messes with them. I had something similar in mind, where it was just limited to glue that would stop it, and soap to make it work again. I see what you did there. So, at the moment items just hit the pump and stop, like any other b...

Re: Morvelaira's News Compilation
Well, bugger. That's annoying. I don't generally use buttons in my worlds for anything except starting redstone clocks and things, because it gives an exactly even pulse every time. Depending on how much they've extended it, that could make that much less convenient.

I will add that even if this suggestion had fit the rules perfectly, you misspelled 'meat'. That alone would probably have doomed it.

Re: Anyone else read World War Z?
Oh man. I read that a few years ago (1? 2? Not sure) while on a camping trip in a swamp. You know, lots of old, twisted trees, and Spanish moss everywhere. The campsite was a slave-trading ground a hundred and fifty years ago, and they used to hang people from the tree my tent was under. I'm dead se...

Re: Your Choice to Stop?
I like plains, with woods nearby. One of the best seeds I ever found had me spawn in a large, very flat plains biome, with woods about 20 blocks away to the north, a swamp about a hundred blocks to the east, the ocean to the west, and more plains as far as I could see to the south. There was an area...

Re: FlowerChild's Dev Diary: Week of September 2nd
Perhaps we'll have to glue arrows to mouldings to make plates of spikes, which could then be used for a variety of nefarious purposes. We could strain stuff through them. Or put them on the ends of pistons. Or wear them as armor, so we can damage zombies by hugging them. Or put them in pits covered ...

Ooh, question. I can't download the update and test it from here, and I need to know right this second: Can items go up the pump-flow-things like in FC's picture? I'm guessing not, because he loves item elevators, but can someone confirm? I don't really have a sense of exactly how the screws work yet.

I live in a flood plain, so my house is essentially on stilts. The lowest floor is more than 15 feet above ground level, and the stairs up to it are wood. In the event of a zombocalypse, I would immediately burn down the stairs, and then stand above the zombies and laugh at them trying to climb up. ...

The thing I don't get is that fire change was made for performance reasons in SMP, NOT due to difficulty. Unless I'm mistaken, I get the impression that this will make hard mode way laggier in SMP due to the raging forest-fires that used to be typical of it. More challenge is wonderful, but is this...

Re: Are half blocks a good idea?
So everyone would prefer it if the world of minecraft were naturalistic? You only play minecraft because there is nothing similar using a more true-to-real engine? Pretty much, yeah. That's one reason TerraFirmaCraft is such a popular mod. It doesn't add much ascetic stuff, but it makes the world a...
