Re: The BTW vs RP conflict: an historical approach

So hard to know who to believe in these days. I mean, I really didn't expect this BWF thing to devolve into another excuse to publicly bash Eloraam. I hope you're going to include a mention of the very signifigant functional differences between every one of those things you mentioned, and maybe men...

Here is an avatar I made, anyone may use it. I might make a banner with a similar style later.

Re: What is BWF?

It's unfortunate that some people seem to think that this was 'justified' and that FC 'deserved' it, and they make fun of FC for responding 'immaturely'. I'd like to see them spend over a year of work onto a project and have someone blatantly rip it off and see what they would think of this then.

Origin Generator

An interesting website I found, it essentially takes parts of the letters in your name (or any word) and turns int into a new word.

I thought I'd post it here becuase typing in 'FlowerChild' yields some interesting results. :)

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of December 3rd)

Looks nice!! It's neat that your spending so much time on these kinds of aesthetic blocks. It's funny how Mojang is just adding netherbrick slabs, while your finishing up building furniture out of them. :)

Re: Fireworks? Really?

If they just get fired out of a dispenser, how would you make a cannon out of that? Oh, I wasn't aware that was how they worked. For some reason I was under the impression they behave like a TNT block but with a special explosion. Looking again at that picture that Jeb posted though I see what you ...

Re: Fireworks? Really?

I think the fireworks are a positive addition, they add more incentive for you to build cannons and such, something very interesting but without fireworks rather useless, particularly in SSP.

At any rate I think they are better than re-skinned wheat and chunks of compressed metal.

Btw guys, with regards to the conversation continuing over PM, I decided to just mail him a very simple request: to please play my mod. Good idea, I just hope that he puts in some real time into looking at it and dosen't just gloss over things without getting too in-depth. Even if he dosen't give i...

Re: Dinnerbone in BTW MCF thread

It seems Dinnerbone is taking what FC is saying about the game very personally, as if FC is accusing him of single handedly ruining it, when really its directed at the entire Minecraft team, not one individual.

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 27th)

In my opinion, requiring someone to complete BTW1 before BTW2 is silly and not going to work. First of all, this is a sequel, you don't have to beat the first mod to play the second mod anymore than you have to beat a game to play the second installment of the game. Also people are going to cheat an...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 27th)

Am I correct that this would give you 256 different meta-data values for each block? (11111111 binary = 255 decimal + 1) It seems logical but mind blowing that 4 bits more metadata would provide so much more! If I'm correct hat would mean you have essentially 256*255 = 65280 blocks to work with vs. ...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 27th)

Ok, a new option just occurred to me based on this conversation: What if I were to do something I haven't seen a mod do before and develop a *true* sequel? Sounds to me like the best option so far, really it has the advantages of both sides, and the added advantage of emphasizing that BTW is a game...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 27th)

I am for a TC, however, I don't feel that much connection to my world, so my point may be invalid in the long run. I also agree with Sarudak that at least conceptually a TC would offer a much more cohesive experience. In the long run however I don't care all to much as long as I can play BTW, especi...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 27th)

With this though, one click of 'Update Now', and BTW is no longer viable for you to use. In addition, there will not be any new users as the mod will no support their version of Minecraft. You can always degrade MC version using one of may tools available (like MCNostalgia) . And BTW was never abou...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 27th)

Quoting from the thread if Off-Topic Indeed a rewrite would probably be a deathblow to most of the mods out there as it would virtually require a rewrite on their side. As far as the modding community is concerned I can't think of anything much worse they could do than a total rewrite. They'd be be...

Well the biggest thing he's talked about in the past that I can think of for this, especially now that the fervor for it has died, is probably the two way chute; however, this is just speculation. My first thought as well, however the Splitter Chute has been planned sense mid-December, which was ab...
