Re: My Summer Car - Hardcore Life Survival Simulator
Narrow FOV and low framerate are the usual suspects for motion sickness in video games. Head bob can do that as well, but I'm not seeing that in the video that Dave linked.

Imgur's the better option for image hosting - Dropbox temporarily blocks access to files they get too much traffic. While that probably won't happen on this forum, it's worth noting.

Re: Do you have a ticket to Pony Island?
I've watched someone play it, and it was definitely interesting. However, from what I'd seen, it's one of those games where you really want to know as little as possible about it before you start playing.

I could absolutely see Microsoft trying to kill off the competition on the platform it controls. However, as the article points out, they can't do it without breaking other things.

Starbound: Terraria-like game that just didn't hold my interest. Distance: Commercial version of Nitronic Rush that's still in development. Spintires: Issues between the developer and publisher basically killed this one before it could be finished. Space Engineers: Okay as a platform, but the game i...

I've picked up From the Depths and Clandestine. I haven't played From the Depths all that much (working my way through the tutorials), but I'd heard good things about it in the IRC channel. Clandestine so far is pretty solid - I played for a couple hours with DaveYanakov, and I thought the missions ...

Re: Question -- NOT A SUGGESTION -- about ambient temperatur
It's entirely possible for that, and there's already some vanilla mechanics (and some mods) that take advantage of biome temperatures. For example, snow golems only leave a trail of snow behind if it's below a certain temperature and start to take damage if it's above a certain temperature.

Re: HarvesteR steps down as KSP lead dev
On the other hand, as far as I know, we're talking about some guys at a marketing firm in Mexico that decided to make a game and somehow managed to convince management to go along with that. That's more or less how it happened. There was a post ages ago explaining it, but basically there was a poli...

Re: HarvesteR steps down as KSP lead dev
I'm honestly not too surprised, especially after a former developer made some serious claims about low pay and poor working conditions, followed by several others chiming in to confirm. In that situation, I'd want to distance myself from the company as much as possible.

Looks like it's an issue with your client install rather than the server install. When you start a singleplayer game, does it give a version of BTW in the chat?

Sure, but I was talking about games that explicitly support or require it. DX11 doesn't suddenly stop working because you're on Windows 10.Ethinolicbob wrote:AFAIK A lot of the DX12 optimizations work with DX11 games, so most developers have yet to make DX12 updates.

I've never had any issues with Dolphin. However, the trouble is getting the ROMs, as to get them you'd have to either rip it yourself or find somewhere to download them from.

Re: Windows 10
I've not seen any major reason to upgrade yet. Aside from the Windows Store exclusives (which have a whole host of problems all their own), there's no games that have been announced to require DirectX 12, and from what I can see on Wikipedia there's not that many games that support it as an option r...

To be honest, I'm just glad that they did it before going on Steam, when they didn't have as much exposure. Otherwise they'd likely be in a similar position to the Space Engineers team, who are currently trying to turn their bolted-on multiplayer into something more playable while the playerbase is ...

Shame. When I played KSP, I loved KerbalStuff because it emailed me when a mod I used updated and, well... wasn't Curse. It worked well, showed you everything you needed to know and let modders have a change log, link to their thread/github, etc. However, from what I can tell by skimming the thread,...

For me: Wasted money Spintires: This one I regret. The mud physics are amazing, but there's so little gameplay. To add on to that: due to drama between the publisher and the developer, development on the game has frozen, so it'll never be complete. No longer hopeful Minecraft: The game's stagnated. ...

I still have an old copy of MultiMC 4 with my original BTW install, from before they did away with the /bin folder. @Psion: It's probably more that people will look at what's already been done before they try to come up with something on their own. I wouldn't recommend getting Elite just yet - from what I understand, anyone who buys before they release their planetary landing DLC will have to pay an extra $60 or so to get the full game.

I'd never even realized that the passive flowers dying after a day was a thing. However, it would make things more interesting - I'll admit that I spammed the passive flower that generates mana from water in the last time I used that mod, even though it would've been trivial to replace them with the...
