Re: Thinking of getting a desktop / PC.
You're welcome! although Sounds like everyone is a definite no on pre-built. Something I'll have to think about because I really don't want to build something and botch it. Not at all. My current computer is a pre-built actually (first time since I was about 11) :) It's just that you get a better co...

Re: Thinking of getting a desktop / PC.
I'd also definitely go with an intel CPU over an AMD. I'd also not disregard i7, while it's true that an i5 is enough for pretty much every thing at the moment you want to plan somewhat for the future as well and considering that a lot of games relies on the CPU more than the GPU it won't hurt to ha...

Re: [SPOILERS] 3.80 feature discovery thread
Has anyone tried grinding Steve to see if he drops a scroll when he dies? I figure with FC's orignal intent of the scroll being knowledge of the various creatures and how to exploit their eldrich properties perhaps Steve could learn how to exploit HIS eldrich properties (ie unbreaking or looting) t...

Re: A game people here perhaps might enjoy
A game that makes you think about what you're doing instead of being a generic shooter with "Yay, let's shoot everyone in the face!". Most FPS games these days are almost interchangeable so it's nice to see something that tries to break the mold.

Re: [SPOILERS] 3.80 feature discovery thread
Will the drop rate remain the same? Some of the scrolls seem to be from mobs that are difficult enough to build farms for (ghasts, magma cubes) that it would probably be easier to just go with a vMC item and hope you get the enchant you want. It is still obviously something under development so diff...

Re: [SPOILERS] 3.80 feature discovery thread
I already asked about the drop percentages :) This was the answer: I believe we still haven't found all the scroll drops, care to tell us what the drop percentage is? :P Hell no ;) This involves *serious* in-game work man. I don't even have all the scrolls myself, as I was torn between working on bu...

A game people here perhaps might enjoy
I haven't tried it myself but based on the ever cynical Yahtzee over at Zero Punctuation/The Escapist I'd say that Spec Ops: The Line sounds like a game a lot of people here might enjoy: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/6021-Spec-Ops-The-Line Has anyone tried it and can g...

Mining them with a silk touch pick will prevent them from spawning unless my memory fails me? And the block won't stack with the non-infected ones so you can tell it's a silver fish block.

1€/28kč for 0,5l beer was also pretty much the standard price in pubs in Prague when I was living there. Stores though, I find it sad that if I go to the alcohol store here (we have a system that means only a certain state owned/controlled store chain is allowed to sell alcohol stronger than... 4,8%...

Re: My Idol.
I don't actually have any idols but there are some people that I think are or were great: Robert del Naja - One of the founders of Massive Attack and the inspiration for Banksy. Banksy - Great street art artist and IMO one of the most important figures in the changing/adapting role of graffiti into ...

Why not just use pressure plates in front of every piston? That way you're not preventing possible spawns while the whole row of pistons is extended.

Re: I think I know why FC mentioned salt!
You do know that rock salt, the kind used in Supernatural, is mined rather than produced? Might be it's a resource in in the terrain, especially under lakes (which would also fit with the SFS armor changes)

Re: I think I know why FC mentioned salt!
Let's see... Salt was indeed used in both the drawing of seals when people tried to summon spirits/demons as well as used as a way to keep them at bay by lining the doors and windows with it. If the hint is more direct though, in the series the (almost) only way to deal with an agressive ghost is to...

Locking it before it goes to the padded room. FC can answer if he wants to but better not add any more fuel to the fire.

Take it to off topic or at least to another thread. This is for discoveries made in regards to 3.80, not suggestions or general chit chat.

I've found it best to always double check when people start talking to themselves :p One minute we're skipping end credits and the next we will be playing witch feces in a small room... wait a minute!FlowerChild wrote: Already is man. I do think things through, even if I'm talking to myself in the process ;)

Re: Can you please disable the end-game text?
Very welcome indeed.
However, would it be possible to have it as a toggleable option in the config file? People who are playing through it for the first time might actually want to see it I suppose.

A really easy way would be to have a detector rail near your end destination and have it send a signal when you pass it that sends a cart on the other track back where you came from.

Re: [SPOILERS] 3.80 feature discovery thread
I killed about ~1800 chickens (I left my chicken farm running to see how effective it is (and totally not because I forgot about it when I ran a few errands) and came back to an overload of chickens), no scrolls dropped.
